Fell asleep at the wheel, and the result?  Someone, D-I-E-D, and the drive should be charged, with vehicular MANSLAUGHTER!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The man, Lee, from Taichung drove two men, two women out at night, on the way down the mountains, the car lost control and crashed, the two women on the back, weren’t wearing the safety belts, and were, tossed outside the car, Lee’s girlfriend, Lin died of severe injuries.  As Lee was taken back to the police stations, he fell asleep, out of fatigue, as the officers woke him up, told him of his girlfriend, Lin’s death, he was, dumbfounded for about three seconds, and then, asked the officer, “Was it, that, serious?”, after the police interrogated him, they charged him with manslaughter.

Lee (age24) and his girlfriend, Lin (age 24), asked along Fu (age 27), Chiao (age 22), and the teen, Wang (age 16) to have a trip out at night.  At around three in the morn yesterday, Lee drove his SUV from the Shinshe to the city, the car lost control on Dongshan Road, Section 2, rammed into the tree and the light pole, Lin and Wang who were on the back, were tossed out of the car, because they weren’t wearing the safety belts.

The three men went out to check, and, Wang got up and walked around; in about thirty more seconds, the black sedan lifted Chiao away, and the rest of the group were lifted to the hospital by ambulances.  Lin had a ruptured liver, she’d, bled out, died yesterday afternoon; Wang the adolescent had lacerations on her face, a hand fracture, but she was, aware.

The Taichung city police fifth substation’s fifth traffic squad stated, that Lee wasn’t intoxicated, that he’d borrowed the car from a friend, that the impact was huge, the right side of the car was severely, dented, the front of the car, totaled, with the front passenger and driver’s sides’ airbags blown open.

As the police were taking the statements, Lee learned that his girlfriend died, he told, “I want to see her one last time”.  Chiao came into the station, and only told the police that he wasn’t injured, that he wasn’t, the one driving, then, left.  Chiao said, that they’d met online, “I really don’t know them that well.”

Based off of understanding, the deceased weren’t interacting with her families enough.  Lee told, that he and his girlfriend were both freelance workers, and refused to go into any more details.

The traffic squad will look further into the matter, and decide if the cause of the crash was speeding of how the driver was, too tired when driving.

The senior traffic officer pointed out, that at around three, four in the morn, it’s the time of rest for people, that our bodies are resting, and, related researches showed, that if you drive during this time, you’d be easily, fatigued, and, the driver’s judgments would be, declined, and it’s easier, to fall, asleep at the wheels.

And so, had this group not rushed back to where they were headed in the night, then, this accident could’ve been, avoided, but because they made the wrong calls, people died.  This showed, how you shouldn’t, DRIVE, if you feel tired, because chances are, you will, FALL asleep at the wheel, and CRASH!
