This, is one of those things, that you just, can’t, predict, or prepare yourselves for, because, you NEVER know if some kid’s gonna, RUN out into the street, while, you’re, going at, 65mph!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A six-year-old young boy in Hsinchu on the eighth, because he ran out of the alleyway of Xing-Non Street entrance, and was, rammed over by Hsu who was driving by, after ten days of trying to save him, he was still, too severely, wounded to be saved.  Hsu was charged with manslaughter, the young boy’s father empathized how he too, was driving his son, and that nobody wanted this sort of a thing to happen, he wouldn’t, blame the man.

At around 4:50 in the afternoon on the eighth, the young boy took the kiddy bus back to the alley entrance, his aunt was there to receive him.  But because the child didn’t wear his shoes, and not had his backpack on his back, his aunt to the shoes, the backpack from the accompanying teacher on the bus, she sat by the beams, waiting for the boy to put his shoes on, having conversations with the neighbors; but, the young child, after putting on his shoes, he put his backpack on, then, run quickly toward the street, and was, hit by the passing car, the aunt and the neighbors rushed up to check on him.

As the paramedics arrived, they’d found lacerations in the child’s head, blood was, coming out of his nose, he was in a coma, not responsive to, pain, they’d immediately lifted her to the MacKay Memorial Hospital.  The doctors found the child to have internal bleeding, his pupils dilating, his brain stem was, severely, injured, that surgery wasn’t an option, they’d, advised the family to have him transfer to the Changgang Hospital in Linkou to the Neurosurgery department to treat, that day, the families took the young boy overnight to the hospital in Linkou.  After ten days of treating him, the child still didn’t get better, and can only live off of the respirators, and the drugs that kept his blood pressures elevated enough, he’d died at around two in the morning on the 18th.

The child’s father cried, told that his son was very active, couldn’t sit still, loved pacing, that day, Hsu was also, picking up his own young, he’d felt awful, for running over his son too, and afterwards, Hsu showed great care and concerns for his son’s conditions, not only did he accompany the family to take the child to the hospital, he’d, visited him there too, he’d only hoped that nothing like this, will EVER happen again.

The locals pointed out, that it may have been that the Xingnon Street was connected to the speedways, it had huge traffic flows, that there wasn’t a traffic light at the intersection where the accident had, happened, there are, the problems of speeding there, and at the turn, there were, cars parked illegally on the streets, causing more blind spots to the drivers.

And so, this, could’ve been, easily avoided, but it wasn’t, and the cost???  The life of a young boy, and hopefully, this case will make the public more aware, of the dangerous spots, and, they’d be, prone to, head into the intersections, more carefully, drivers AND pedestrians too!
