The man, Chang who owned a car wash two days ago as he was backing out his car, he’d not noted that his a-year-old grandson who’d just, learned to walk, accidently, he’d, run over the young child, causing him to sustain serious head trauma, the child died on the way to the hospital. He’d felt awful, and blamed himself, the family also, was deep in grief. The D.A. and police examined the body of the young child, and found that the cause of death was brain damage, from a crushed skull, at the preliminary investigations, they’re, ruling it as an accident.
The police and district attorney investigated, Chang (age 54) and his wife had owned and operated a carwash in Changwha for over twenty years, they looked after their young grandchild for their daughter-in-law who works. Two mornings ago, as Chang was finished washing the car for a client, he was backing the car out, as the young boy saw his grandfather driving, he’d, followed behind the vehicle, with his own stroller. Chang was suspected of not noting his grandson being behind the car, as he was backing up, he’d, accidentally, run over the young boy, the back right wheel crushed the child’s skull, the stroller became, stuck underneath the car.
The families rushed the young boy to the nearby clinic first, but, the clinic wasn’t equipped to handle the situation, they’d, rushed him to the Hospital of Sanitation & Welfare in Changwha, but the child sustained the fatal injuries, and couldn’t be saved.
Chang and his wife guarded outside the E.R., he blamed himself, his wife got down on her knees, and begged god to have mercy on the young child. The child’s parents also, rushed in from Taichung, the whole family was, distraught, and they were, crying hard.
There had been many accidents like this that kept on happening in Taiwan, Wang, the salesman in a dealership pointed out, that there are, blind spots at the back right and back left of the cars, especially, when the drivers are backing up, they should, make sure, repeatedly, that there’s, nothing behind the car, then, back up carefully. He’d suggested that the owners of the cars installed an electronic rearview mirror, which had a 180-degree field of vision, that it’ll, greatly, reduce the blind spots.
And so, because the adults weren’t watching carefully, a young child got CRUSHED to death, and that, is just, another lesson in life, you needed to learn, the HARD way, and, it took you, driving OVER your young grandson, to learn the lessons of, needing to CHECK more than just that ONE time, to make sure, that NOTHING is behind your cars when you BACK it up!
