It’s Good, that You’re Here

The effects of a teacher’s actions has on her student, it’d, impacted the student into his adult years, translated…

As the group of us, first year middle schoolers gathered, we were, introducing ourselves, and suddenly, a classmate barfed, everybody in the class ran off scattered, only you, picked up a mop, and mopped it clean.  It’s so nice, to have you around, that, was my first impression of you.

Then, suddenly, I’d, discovered, that as the students who were responsible for cleaning up the blackboard didn’t, you’d, picked up the slacks; the students who’d gone to bring back the heated lunches didn’t, you’d, helped out; the students slacked off in sweeping up the floors, you’d, did it………it’s so nice, with you there, in the class.

In the second year, as the person in charge of the extracurricular activities in class collected $2,000N.T. for the test papers for the class, placed the money inside her backpack, and after P.E. when she’d returned, she’d found the money missing!  A lot of the classmates pointed to you, and I’d, asked you about it in private, after three rounds of communicating, you’d, denied it.

About two weeks later, you’d, come to me with tears in your eyes, and, admitted that it was, you who’d, taken the money.  I’d, not brought up the school’s rules, nor made what you did known to the rest of the class, but, asked you to introspect in your diary, you’d, used your diary, and told me about what’s been going on with you during this past year.

A little over a decade later, you’d, come to me, said you are now, a firefighter, that you love this job, with its challenges and helping others out; you said thank you, that I didn’t just, write you up back then, instead, I’d, given you, a chance, to grow up.

As you’d told me of the ups and downs of your rescuing work, how you’d, given everything you had every time you were on call, I’d, recalled how back then, you’d, used that mop, and mopped up the mess, and this time, I still want to tell you, “it’s, so nice, that you’re, around us.”

And so, this teacher’s attitude had, helped this student become how he is today, and, had the instructor just, BUSTED the student for taking the money of the classmate, and publicly, shamed him, things can, turn out, very differently, but this instructor didn’t, instead, she’d, given the student time to think about what he’d done, and, admit what he did, on his own time, which helped him become a responsible man as he grows up to be an adult!
