Written, to the “slide” generation, how this mother had, set the rule of cell phone usage for her children, and, ENFORCED them, to TRAIN them to handle their own lives, translated…
From before when we were in school, when we come across a character we don’t recognize, we’d, looked it up in the dictionaries, gone to the libraries to research the topics we were writing on, we’d needed to, crack open those books for the answers we sought, and now? The saying of a well-studious name doesn’t leave his place, and knows everything, without physically interacting with the outside world, because Mr. Google knows everything, everyone on this planet, the functionalities of cell phones, became, the biggest invention of the century.
And, we must, use this, majestic, wonderful development of technology more, my youngest daughter used YouTube to make a 3-D greeting card, finished her art summer time assignment, my eldest daughter’s English listening abilities, thanks to YouTube, increased by the days, and, the internet offered the answers to, the hardest questions we may have about parenting too, and, using it wisely, it’d become, the mechanical cat to the cartoon character, “ask, and ye shall, receive!”
The adults couldn’t help but get addicted to using the cell phones, let alone, the adolescents who’d still, yet to, develop their abilities of self-control, and so, my two daughters didn’t get their cell phones until they were in middle school, and their phones are for the sakes of making calls, with NO online abilities, we don’t have wi-fi at home either, only our phones had, unlimited, online access.
The internet is opened from eight to nine in the evenings at my house, my daughters sat in the living room, researching what they needed online, playing the online games, watching YouTube videos, and, as the hour was up, they’d, returned back to their rooms, to finish their assignments, and, on the happy Saturdays, the internet is opened up for twelve hours, this became a habit, they’d not felt they were, restrained, or even, deprived, instead, they’d, learned to cherish their internet usage time, and, learned to exercise their abilities of self-control, and, kickstarted their self-learning progresses too.
The world is huge, with a ton of temptations, you can’t say yes to every single thing that comes your way. You can’t just, swallow everything you get online whole, you’d needed to, sift through them, to see which items are believable and which ones, aren’t, the status offered by the parents’ phones can’t be replaced, don’t allow your young to get kidnapped by the cell phones, it’s a tool, NOT a toy, parents must set a better example themselves, don’t be controlled by your cellphones, because, as you’d, finally lifted your heads up, they’d, flown the nest already.
In this day of myopia being the trend among younger generations, my daughters still had nearly perfect sights, and, everybody around them envied them for it, you must set your principles, for the rules to become, effective, don’t let the rules slide.
And so, this parent had, set up the stricter rules, because she didn’t want her children to get kidnapped by the hi-tech devices like a whole lot of other children are right now, and, by setting her rules, not allowing her children to bend them, she’d, trained her children to be able to restrain themselves, to have the ability, to say NO to temptation, and she’d, prepared them for how they are to handle the temptations that may present themselves in their lives in the future, and most of all, these children won’t get, kidnapped by the high-tech devices, or the advancements in technology either!
