He had, shown remorse for leaving his newborn infant boy at an orphanage, so, that counts, for something, right??? From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Young Boy Was Already Adopted Out, He’d Not Registered for School Yet, that Was How This Case Was Found, the Judge Considered How the Family Was in Need, and How the Man Showed Remorse, He Was Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison and Put on a Five-Year Probation
The Man, Chen, Twelve Years Ago, Because He Couldn’t Afford to Keep His Own Children, While His Wife Ran Off, He’d, Placed His Then a-Month Old Young Infant Son in a Cardboard Box, Left His Son at an Orphanage Early in the Morning, But He’d Felt Guilty, Kept it to Himself for Seven Whole Years, and, Because the Boy Hadn’t Registered for School Yet, that Was How This Case Was Found Out; the Taoyuan District Courts Considered, that the Boy Was Already Placed and Adopted Out, that Chen Was from the Lower End of the Socioeconomic Status, He Was Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison for Abandonment, and Put on Probation for Five Years.
The investigators found, that Chen (age 40) after he had a son with his wife back in 2007, his wife left him for some reasons, he thought about how he didn’t make enough money, and already had a daughter to care for, one day at around five, he’d put his own five-months old young son inside a cardboard box, left him on the doorsteps of an orphanage then left.

Although the infant boy was placed, but, nobody knew where he had come from; and many years later, the Department of Education found that Chen’s son was never registered for school, they’d visited them, and that was how this all came out.
As he was being investigated, Chen admitted to abandoning his own son when he was just a month old, Chen’s wife testified that she was staying with her parents’ for over a month, and, as she came back home to her husband, she’d inquired him about where their son was, he wouldn’t, answer her, and, as she’d mentioned to him on and off, he’d, beaten her up.
The young child’s maternal grandmother testified, that as her young grandson was only about twenty-days old, he was taken away by Chen, and she hadn’t heard of him since, that it wasn’t until the call from the Department of Education came, did she realize how serious this was.
The judge considered that Chen wasn’t in good economic conditions, that he’d disregarded how young his infant son was, didn’t fulfill his duties of protecting, of raising him, but considering how as the boy was discovered, and the city government was, notified, and was adopted out legally, and he is very healthy in the body and the mind, that he wasn’t, deeply, impacted by his abandonment by Chen.
The judge believed, that after Chen was found out, he’d shown remorse, and he was too young when he’d abandoned his own young, and he was tried economically, and was taking care of two young children already, that he should’ve called for help from the social services, instead of abandoning his youngest child. But in the process of the trial, Chen went to find out where his youngest son was placed, and showed that he’d regretted what he’d done back then, it’d made him gnawed by his own guilty conscience as he was serving his time in prison.

The court believed, that the Social Services should offer help to Chen so he can have some stability back in his life, sentenced him to eight months in prison, but, put him on probation for five years, and demanded that he volunteered for 240 hours at nonprofit organizations.
And so, because you couldn’t, afford to keep your own young son, you’d, taken him to DUMP in an orphanage, while your wife left home, and this is SEVEN years later, and your son grew up without a mother, OR a father, because you TOOK that away from him, and, the young child was, already, adopted out, and this boy found some sort of a stability in his life, and now, you came out, because you couldn’t, withstand being gnawed by your guilty conscience………
