A woman, Tsai was annoyed with how her live-in partner’s one-year-four-months old infant grandson cried so incessantly, she’d, picked him up, shaken him hard, causing the infant to start to twitch, as they rushed him to the hospital, he’d, died. The coroner’s autopsied the child and found him to have died, of “natural causes”, but the NTU Hospital believed, that his death was caused by being shaken. The Keelung District Court believed the results given by the NTU Hospital, and charged Tsai yesterday for manslaughter, sentenced her to ten years, the case can be appealed.

The verdict pointed out, that the infant was born in Tainan, in October of 2016, because his mother gave birth and was in the month-long recovery after birth, he was sent to Keelung to be looked after by his maternal grandfather, Chen. Tsai, in her forties lived in with Chen, she’d not wanted to look after the infant boy, but, because Chen begged her, she’d, finally, agreed.
During the two months the infant boy was in her care, every time he’d cried, Tsai got annoyed; on an evening in December of that same year, Chen was out at work, as Tsai prepared the meals, she saw the infant crying hard, she’d, picked him up, shaken his neck and head, the young infant started twitching at the limbs, after he was taken to the hospitals, the doctors attempted to resuscitate him for two days, then, he’d, died.
During the trial, the coroner’s office and the NTU Hospital both confirmed the cause of death of severe brain edema, and cerebral hernia, but the causes are different from the hospital’s and the coroner’s reports.
The forensic academy believed that the infant didn’t have subdural hematoma of his lobes, or the optical nerves, that it was his severe bronchitis when he was alive, causing his lungs to fail, noted his death as natural.
But the NTU Hospital believed, that before he died, his head suffered more than two blows, causing the hematomas, that was what’s caused the severe case of hernia, that it’d, fitted to the criteria of child abuse, that he’d not died, of natural causes. Simply stated, the brain hernia is when parts of the brains got pushed to another place, that the important brain tissues were pressed too hard, and causing the deadly symptoms.

The Keelung District Court based off of the coroner and the surgeons and doctors’ testimonies, along with the X-ray results, the CT scan images, and took the testimonies from the NTU Hospital in the end.
The judge pointed out, that Tsai raised a son, she had experiences in caring for a young child, but because the infant boy started crying hard, she’d, shaken him multiple times causing him to be, fatally injured. And, in light of recent cases of child abuse, after considerations, he’d given her ten years in prison.
Yeah uh, see how EASY an adult loses control? Because this infant child, who isn’t related to this woman (and maybe that’s why she believed she could, abuse him???), started crying nonstop, she got annoyed, and, shook him hard, and, it’d, caused the infant boy to lose his life, and, she was charged with, assault causing death, what she should’ve been charged with is MURDER, if you ask me!
