This is, the worth of a YOUNG infant’s life right now, and, it’s still, “depreciating” here!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The nanny, Ji while caring for a nine-months-old infant girl, Lee last year, she’d placed the infant on the bed alone, and gone out, the infant died of asphyxiation from the quilt covering up her face, the Shihlin District Court held its first trial, the nanny and the mother of the infant reached a settlement agreement, the nanny was willing to pay over seven million dollars in exchange for only a probation, and no jail time.
The nanny, Ji, was a certified nanny, she took care of the nine-months-old infant, Lee for six months, last March, she’d placed the infant girl onto the adult bed in the master bedroom of her home, and, kept a folded quilt next to the infant, but, the infant fell asleep on her stomach, and was suffocated to death by the quilt, she was rushed to the hospital, but she still, died, the nanny was charged with death by neglect.
The Shihlin District Court was in session yesterday, the nanny had, mediated with the family, and reached a settlement agreement, she was willing to pay $7.37 million N.T.s, and immediately, pay the family $1.3 million N.T.s in cash, and the rest would be paid in installments of $15,000N.T. per month, for thirty-three whole years until it’s paid up in full.
The nanny cried in court, “it was my neglect”, that she will, try her best, to make it up to the infant girl’s parents, asked the judge to sentence her light, to give her probation, so she can have a chance to change for the better.
She pointed out, that as the infant girl had died, she’d, sent the other children she was taking care of away, that she’d, stopped nannying, currently, she’s working as a janitor of office buildings, she’d made a little over $22,000N.T. per month, and she’s also, raising her own underage children too.
and this, is what happened…
The infant’s mother who had a doctorate said angrily, “so, someone else’s child doesn’t count?”, the nanny disregarded the safety of three young infant, and let for an errand, and afterwards, she’d still, hidden that she wasn’t close by when the infant girl died of suffocation, not shown any cares or concerns for her daughter’s death, but thankfully, they were able to find evidence in surveillance footage that showed that she was away when the child died of asphyxiation.
The attorney of the mother of the infant told, that his client was still feeling the loss from her young daughter’s life, that she will allow the judge to decide what happens to the nanny.
And so, how much is a child’s life? No more than a COUPLE of million dollars, is what this case is proving to us, and this still does NOT consider the victim’s families sense of losing their own young infant child.
