Another case, of infant ABUSE, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
Awhile ago, there was a case of a nanny, Liao, suffocating a ten-months-old baby boy to death that happened at the “Our Nursing Center” located on Kangning Road of Neihu District in Taipei. The Department of Social Services investigated deeper into the matter, and found, that there were, three OTHER nannies who were improper in taking care of the young infants, there was a one-and-a-half-year-old baby who had his head pressed downward by the nanny eighteen times, and there were, the multiple incidents of hugging and crushing methods to put the babies to nap, there were, multiple infant victims found.
what it should be…
The nursing center which the deaths occurred was rated A+ at last year’s evaluations, and the city council members scolded the Social Services for not doing its job; and, the nursing center is a chain, with the locations, scattered throughout the multiple districts, which caused the widespread panic from the parents all around. The head of the Social Services of Taipei, Chen spoke, that they will, review over the guidelines of what constitutes as acceptable in the care ratings.
The head of the children and women’s department of the department of Welfare, Chung stated, that they’d confirmed, through the reviewing of the video footages, that there was a nanny, who was trying to get an infant of one and a half years to nap, but the toddler didn’t want to sleep, and kept, lifting his head up, and the nanny kept, pressing his head down onto the pillows, and, the infant got his head pushed down onto the pillows eighteen whole times, and because of how repetitive this was, whether it was interaction, or putting the infant to sleep, it shouldn’t be done like so, the social services believed that the laws of child protection had been, broken, and the center, the nanny were, both fined.
While the other two nannies, in putting their infants to sleep, had “hugged” or “pressed” the babies too tightly, that it would cause danger to the infant’s safety, and deemed as breaking the laws of child protective act, they were also, fined.
but instead…
As for how many infants were mistreated? Chung said, that if the parents are worried that their children may be abused, they can report their concerns to the Department of Social Services, and review over the surveillance together. Chen said, that the nine other nursing center that belonged to this chain will be closely examined too, and projected that it would take two months to finally finish all the investigations.
There were, thirty-five registered infants and toddlers that were cared for by the nursing center, but, since the news of the infants’ deaths came out, there were, only thirteen infants who are still, enrolled into the program,, the parents told, “we were shocked as we heard the news on T.V.”, worried about the transfer of their young to another nursing center. The Department of Social Services said, that they’d already found the nannies in the Neihu District who aren’t caring for any children to help out, that before Friday, the nannies will all be stationed at the nursing center to help look after the babies who are still in the program.
And so, this, is the improper behaviors of adults toward young children, and, that’s just it, this nursing center had an all-star reputation, but this sort of SHIT happens, so, what does that tell us? That the reputation IS bullshit, that unless you interviewed ALL the nannies who might be caring for your young, you can never be really sure of your own infants’ or toddlers’ safety.
