Should Social Security Exclude the Rich?

Of course N-O-T, ‘cuz we’d all, PAID into it when we were younger, so, why should we NOT receive the benefits, huh???  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The free nutritious lunches in the middle and the elementary schools, the waived fees of health insurances for the elderly population, no bus fares, paying half for the MRT and the HSLR, some are national, but, mostly, it’s, paid for by the local governments, and so, is this excluding the rich, the cities, the counties couldn’t agree on much.

Every time the mayoral elections rolled around, in order to gain the votes, the candidates always made those promises of free things, the most important one being, free lunches for children in schools.  For some cities, such as Taipei, they don’t CARE about the lunches being free that’s provided, the recycled food items were measured by the tons.  And yet, there are, a ton of nutritionists, and educators, who’d, vouched for the nutritious meal programs, that it has NOTHING to do with excluding the rich, as the lunches were designed by professionals, to teach how to have a balance diet to the young children who are in school, in a lot of the advanced countries, it’s done like this too, having the students finishing their lunches at school, and made sure that they’d finished, everything off their plates.

And yet, during this past election, the national principal association criticized that “There’s NO free lunch”, that if the free lunch program gets implemented, it’d certainly, dip into the funding of other areas.  There’s only limited resources from the government, and, the free lunch programs that didn’t exclude those students from better backgrounds isn’t even fair at all, causing the spending locally to increase, and it would, certainly, impact the learning environment greatly too.

First, the free nutritious meal programs in the elementary and middle school levels are, absolutely necessary, it’s a huge criteria, for the implementing of the educational policies.  Other than learning to have a more balanced diet, in the eras where there are no nutritious lunches being provided, there were, a ton of tearful stories at lunch time, a lot of children from the poorer backgrounds were ashamed of opening up their lunch boxes, and there were a lot of teachers and students in the class, who’d, helped out these children from lesser backgrounds back then.  And so, the nutritious meal programs IS positive in the light of “equality”.

As for in the more advanced countries in the world, there’s NOT this problem of ruling out the rich in provisions of the free nutritious meals, because their GDP are all, a lot higher compared to the 13-percent that Taiwan has, for instance, the EU has 35.7 percent GDP, over twice Taiwan’s GDP, and in the happiest country, Denmark, it’s 50.8 percent, 54.2 percent in Finland, followed by France’s 47.9 percent, Germany’s 44.5 percent, and Japan has 35.9 percent, Korea, 36.6 percent, way higher than compared to Taiwan’s.  In the democratic countries where the taxes are higher, the rich had already done their duties of paying their taxes, and if we want to, rule out the rich, we would need to spend more resources on, defining what “rich” is.  And so, for a “ghost country” like Taiwan, not ruling out the rich, would be just like the national principal association said, dipping into funding from other educational policies, especially the money spent on education.

And, in those democratic countries with a higher tax rate, naturally, it’s because the government acted right, there’s, nearly no embezzlement, nor building up the unused buildings, with the transparencies in tax laws, otherwise, those in power would’ve, gotten voted off by the citizens.  There’s no justice in the tax systems here in Taiwan, so many officials who embezzled money, with those not-being used museums everywhere, but when it comes to talking about economic developments, the heads in business opened up by saying that the taxes need to be reduced, instead of amending the tax laws, they’re nothing, but greedy, spending carelessly, spoiled brats.

And so, the forefront for a free lunch system to work, is having a government who operates on faith, believing that nobody IS going to do bad, no taking the kickbacks, no embezzlements, but, it’s impossible for Taiwan, because, there are, so many government officials right now who are, acting up, and only cared about getting their party in that status of power, and, as that was their focus, all of us, citizens who are living in this country, suffer, because of those bad policies that aren’t even benefiting us.
