The Ruifang Square is Building a Library, the Local Mothers SCREAMED at the Local Government: Where Can We Take the Children on Weekends Now?

And, guess WHAT this showed???  People here, they don’t CARE about reading that much, they just want a place where their kids can get ALL their excess energies out, so the kids won’t bother them!  From the Newspapers, translated…

The Hsinbei Public Library’s Ruifang Branch was old and worn, the city government evaluated, and decided, to “rebuild” the library at the plaza, and the playground will be, moved to behind the post office, and the mothers screamed out in anger at the government, “Where are we going to take our kids to play now?” the city government promised to build a park with trees at the old site of the library, and set up a brand new playground, to fit the needs of the local residents.

The community plaza of Ruifang is located close to the local marketplace, a lot of mothers are used to letting their children play on the playground while they go shopping for the groceries, and interact with the fellow mothers, while the foreign caretakers of elderly would take the elderly people to the plaza to get some sun, the location was “a place for relaxation best fitted for kids to play, and people to connect.”

The man in charge of the local borough, Chen said, that the library may be moving to the plaza, and, taking away another spot that’s public that the local residents can hang out and relax in, it’d made the locals really upset.

The locals sighed, “There’s not enough place to take the younger generations to play in”, believed, that other than building a library that the locals won’t be going to, instead, the government should, build a brand new playground for the children to play in, so they’d, called out to the city government, “Do think on behalf of the residents of Ruifang”, and the locals banded together, an “anti-library self-help union”, to fight for their own plaza.

“We’re not against building a library, just against the library’s being build at the square is all”, Chen stated, the locals suggested that the library can be build at the land offices, or the auditorium of the Ruifang Elementary School, combining the land offices, and the library into one location, convenience for the locals, and it might well increase the usage of the residents in the libraries too.

And so, these mothers, they seemed to be missing out the point, the city’s building a library, for the sake of everybody in the local communities, and yet, these mothers only considered how it would be, inconvenient for them, to not have a place to send their kids to play in, to not have a place where they can leave their own young when they go shopping at the nearby marketplaces, without an INKLING of a clue, of how important reading is to the children’s lives, and if they don’t start cultivating that love of reading in the young children, we will then, have this, next brand new generations, of nonreaders, who expect to be fed EVERYTHING visually, you might as well just PARK your children’s ASSES in front of that god DAMN iPad at home then!!!
