A Woman Gave Birth to a Fifth Child Secretively, and Gave Him Away, Turned Herself in, Got Sentenced to Six Months of Prison

A woman, Lee a decade ago, gave birth to a fifth child, she’d worried that she couldn’t raise him up well, and gave him to a stranger, and although she’d felt regrettable after she’d given her son away, and reported him missing, but the police and detectives had chased the leads for many years, and still hadn’t found the boy yet, they’d, processed her for abandonment; the Kaohsiung District Court believed, that Lee gave her young son away to an unknown stranger easily, not thought of how she might endanger his life, sentenced her to six months in prison for the abandonment charges, that she couldn’t pay a fine, and not serve the time.  This can still be appealed.

The verdict pointed out, that Lee who is forty-three this year, a decade ago, already had four children, and she KNEW that her family economic wasn’t well, and her husband told her he didn’t and couldn’t keep one more child, and after she found herself pregnant, she’d still decided to give birth, and managed to conceal her own pregnancy from her family with her body-type; in August of 2009, Lee went to an OBGYN clinic to give birth to her own child, and because she didn’t DARE bring her own son home, a couple of days later, she’d, given her own infant son away to a woman whose last name was Kao to raise.

Shortly after Lee gave her infant son away, she felt regrettable, she’d told the truth to her husband, and, six months later, they’d gone to the local subprecinct to report their son missing, and they’d waited at the stadium too, hoped to bump into Kao again, but for many years, nothing; as the child was school age, and still wasn’t, registered, the police caught up with Lee, and, took her in on charges of abandonment.

In the trials, Lee admitted to giving her son up, the public defender told, that Lee only gave him up because her husband didn’t want another child, and, she didn’t know how to handle it after her son was born, that was why she’d, concealed her pregnancy and gone ot the birthing clinic on her own, and, as her son was born, she panicked, and that was what led her to do the wrong thing; Lee’s husband also testified, that “my wife wanted to find this son of ours, we’d done all that we could to find him”, hoped that the judge wouldn’t send his wife to prison.

But, although the Collectivist Courts believed that Lee fitted the criteria for turning herself in, and already gotten her husband to forgive her too, but, she’d NOT signed a contract, and not known the background of the woman, and just, gave her son up to a complete, unknown stranger, causing the son to go missing, and couldn’t know if he was, cared for, sentenced her to six months for turning herself in, and then, imposed the sentence of how she’d, broken the laws of child protection, she couldn’t pay a fine to get out of serving the sentence, there’s no probation for her either, she will be spending some time in prison.

And so, this, is how this mother who WAS unfitting, who’d, tossed her own newborn son away gets punished, and, it’s still NOT punishment enough for this woman, because she was too SELFISH, with a lacking in her considerations of whether or not her son was given to someone who actually would care for him, and now, this child is still, “missing”………
