He’d Won a Million Dollars in Scratch-Off Lotto Last Year, and This Year, He’d Robbed the Lotto Shops

In just ONE year, how things can totally, get turned upside down, and this is still, ALL this man’s own fault!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A man, Wu from Chiayi last year, bought a scratch-off lotto ticket and won the million dollar prize, but the following day, he’d lost ALL his winnings in the same shop; two evenings ago, he’d gone to the lotto shop again, used a notepad with the thousand dollar pattern on it, to pretend he was buying the lotto tickets, then, grabbed nine piles of 162 scratch-off and made his escape.  The worker recognized Wu, called the police, the police arrested him in Yunlin yesterday, and, confiscated the thirty-four tickets he hadn’t scratched off along with the prize money of $125,000N.T.s.

Wu said, because he’d needed the money during the holidays, his divorced wife asked him for money, that was why he’d thought of robbing the lotto shop he bought the tickets in last year; but the police found, that on the 20th of this month, Wu had told the shops that he was taking the tickets home for his wife to select, and gotten away with more than $140,000N.T.’s worth of tickets in a shop in Chiayi already, suspected that this was premeditated, the police charged him with robbery.

The police investigated, that the forty-year-old Wu two evenings ago, went twice to the lotto sa littlhop he’d robbed, pretended he was looking into the numbers, and, the police arrived at the shops to tell the stores to watch out.

At past eleven at night two nights ago, the shop was closing down, Wu entered again, knocked on the gates, said he had money, and wanted to buy three more books worth of lotto tickets; the shop thought it was a frequent customers, took out nine booklets to let Wu select from, while the store clerk wasn’t paying attention, he’d grabbed ALL the booklets, got away on his scooter, the shop lost a total of $324,000N.T.s.

The police was called, and tracked down Wu’s scooter, and chased after him, and found that he’d rented a place in Zuoying last year, and the lotto shop provided how Wu had once scratched out the million dollar prize as lead; the police suspected that Wu ran up north to Chiayi, at around 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday, they arrested him in Huko, Yunlin, and the police confiscated 34 scratch-offs from the glove compartment, as well as a black airgun too, along with $125,000N.T. in cash.

The police found, that two days ago, Wu asked his ex to borrow her scooter, he’d rode to Kaohsiung to rob the shop, then, road to Chiayi, called up his relatives, to borrow another scooter, he’d gone to the local shops to cash in, and dumped the tickets that didn’t win to the ditches; he’d sold off two other booklets of lotto tickets, gave one booklet to his friend.  Wu said, he’d won the second prize from a $2,000N.T. ticket from the shop last year, and, he’d received about $800,000N.T. from the million-dollar winnings, but the following day, he’d lost it all, playing bingo in the same shop.

And so, this is how quickly luck runs out, because that money wasn’t meant for you in the first place, you’d won it, and couldn’t hold on, and you’d felt taken, or even, cheated, and that was why you believed it was okay, for you, to ROB the shops, and now you’re caught within TWENTY-FOUR hours since you’d robbed the shop, what does THAT tell you?  Oh yeah, you do something illegal, you WILL get caught, it’s just, a matter of time when you do…
