In This Brand New Year, Wish that All Children Can Have a Home

On the reactions to how the papers reported about a five-year-old homeless child, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The UDN papers reported a five-year-old “young homeless child” recycled the materials for a living, he couldn’t live his dreams of going to school, it’d made the readers feel awful.  Before this eve of the New Year, as the families all gathered together, the young girl and her family members can only gather in the local parks, it’d made me feel deeply.

It’d reminded me of “The Little Match Girl” by Andersen, the young child trekked the streets, selling her matches, while everybody is with the family, having their meals, reunited with their loved ones, she could, only see her imaginary bliss, in the dimming light from the matches she was selling; and in the end, this young girl was frozen to death on the streets, but with a smile, curling up her lips.

Imagine a five-year-old young girl, can she only imagine that she is happy, in the dimming light of the community parks; our president and the politicians are, having a grand time, being popular online, can they even, see the tragedies of the lives, of those who are, at the bottommost of the society?  As the government ruled the country using the ideologies, did the members even realize, that what the citizens needed, was a good economy, a safe and happy life, a hope, that no more young children will, trek these streets homeless, a world where the elderly were, taken care of, the young are, looked after?

On the New Year’s holidays, I hope, that this young five-year-old can find a warm place to call her home, to have her wish of entering into school, and I also hope, that there would be, no more trials of life that will be, happening to everybody else in the world, that everybody is happy, everything is, wonderful.

And, this would only be, wishful thinking, because take a look around, how many cases of abuse, neglect, and torture can you find?  Countless, and, this IS the Chinese New Year, and yet, we’re, still too far off from an ideal world, because this, IS the HARSH reality of things: children ARE getting murdered, hurt, abused AND neglected, and elderly are becoming, homeless, starving on the streets, and, it will, continue to get even COLDER in this world that we currently reside in!
