On setting the right values, teaching your children, that money isn’t what’s important, the thought is what’s more important! Translated…
When children have birthdays, the moms’ inviting the children’s classmates to their houses to have cake became norm. Recalling how when my child was in kindergarten and had his birthdays, I’d, prepared the snacks, cake and drinks to the classroom, so the teacher can put that pointy head on his head, and he’d stood in the center of a circle of his classmates, and they’d, sing Happy Birthday to him, and the birthday boy would, flash his smile that said, “I’m the star for today!”, and, shared the birthday cake with everybody in his class, and, all of their, little faces were covered with the cream.
Once, my son came home, and told me excitedly, that one of his classmates had a birthday party in school, he’d told me, “The classroom was decorated with a ton of balloons, like an amusement park, there were so many fruits, coke, chocolates and cakes on the table, her family is very rich! Mom, I want the same things next year!”
I’d heard, that other than the bubble machines, the child’s parents hired the inflated giant consorts and placed them in school, it’d looked like, a miniature carnival, it was an eye opening experience for my son, he had a blast. But, the other parents’ reactions were all the same, “it’s too over”, this sort of a party should be hosted at home. The school later felt that it was, improper too, and told everybody, that that was, the very last time that it would happen. Every child is cherished by her/his parents, but, you must know how not to give them an excess of materials, because giving the children too much materials, they may not appreciate what they have.

I’d recalled when I worked as a teacher, some of my students had their happy birthdays, but some students’ parents were too busy working, that they’d, forgotten it was their children’s birthdays, and so, I’d, hosted the birthday celebrations by the seasons, on the first days of January, April, July, and October, so, the kids born in the months celebrated their birthdays together, the students get to decide on how, whether it be singing happy birthday to the students who are having their birthdays, singing, dancing, or musical instrument, to add to the joyous occasion, it was like classroom parties.
We’d also, taken the art classes to make the posters and the birthday hats for the occasions, and had the students wrote a letter of gratitude to their parents on the day, and mailing them out during the months of their birthdays, teaching the students, to be grateful.
The kind mothers of the class had, prepared the sesame oil noodles, plus my cooked eggs, it was, perfect. We’d also, invited the parents of the children with the birthdays to be present too, so long as we’re all, willing, to make the time, to put a little thought into it, to involve ourselves in our children’s coming of age, the children will surely, feel our love for them, and feel blessed, and all of these will become, good memories for them to keep.
a much better way to “do” birthdays for children…photo from online
You don’t really need to spend a whole lot of money on your children’s birthdays, what would be most unforgettable, would be, those simplest kinds of happiness.
And so, this, is the values that you should be trying to teach your young, after all, birthdays are the mother’s most trying days, and, the children should be TAUGHT to appreciate what they’d been given, not go in the mindset of, “It’s my birthday, I’m king/queen for the day, and everybody WILL obey my orders!!!” And this teacher’s measures teach the children to appreciate what they have, and the classroom mother’s putting in their time, to prepare the items, also teaches children the meaning of what is given to them, and they would be, less likely, to take things for granted.
