The work of this social welfare organization, that survived solely off of donations here, from the Newspapers, translated…
Although the 79-year-old man, Chen had a grandson who wasn’t related to him by blood, but his grandson couldn’t care for him, and had asked for money from him to buy foods, but as Chen mentioned his grandson to the outside, he’d, made excuses of how he was studying hard in school, that his grandson couldn’t, take care of him, it’d made the volunteers who were there, to help him out feel sad. The Hsinbei branch manager, Chang of the Huashan Foundation said, that most of the elderly who needed them were from families who couldn’t look after them.
The Hsinbei Station set up by the foundation oversaw about 1,500 elderly who were demented, disabled, or with nobody else to look after them, it’d combined the Gentlemen Foundation of Taishan, and several other organizations, to make visits to the elderly who lived alone in the Taishan District. As Chen saw the C.E.O. of the foundation, Sun, he’d not just flashed that radiant smile, he’d even told Sun in private, of how he’d tripped and fallen a couple of days back, and it’d made everybody who were there visiting with him, to check his conditions.
Chen and his wife adopted a daughter after they were wed, but the adopted daughter went off some twenty odd years ago and lost contact, and left behind her own adopted son for Chen to care, Chen raised him up, but the college-age grandson treated his home like a hotel, making Chen into an elderly living alone on his own.
Sun said, that he’d rarely seen Chen’s unrelated-by-blood grandson, that he’d known about this from the volunteers, and so, he’d selected two weekends to go to Chen’s home to visit with him.
And, the ninety-four-year-old elderly man, Weng has four children, the eldest son was having a hard time caring for his own family and his elderly father, he was having a hard time, his two other daughters passed away already, and now, although Hsu lives with his children, his son was immobilized, his daughter was mentally ill, five years ago after his wife died, he’d, lost the center of his life. The foundations looked after Hsu’s wellbeing, Hsu didn’t have to pay for his own elderly care.
Chang said, the elderly who lived alone, because they’d lost someone to depend on, they’d become incapable of caring for themselves, and are demented, and they’d needed a ton of help from the world, it’d troubled the elders. Chang told, that they are not only in need of donations now, but volunteers also.
And so, this, is a good thing that this foundation is doing, helping these elderly who lived alone, but you have to wonder, behind every single last one of their sob stories, they may be responsible, for how they ended up where they are.
