The 62-year-old Lai was imprisoned for drunk driving, and released two days ago, two evenings ago, he was drinking with his live-in girlfriend, they’d started fighting, he was suspected of strangling his girlfriend to barely breathing, then, he’d, returned back to his bedroom, and fell asleep; as he woke yesterday, he’d found his girlfriend lying in the bathroom, he’d immediately notified the emergency services, and the woman died. The police charged him with murder, and the D.A. asked the courts to place Lai into custody which the courts approved.
The emergency response center for the fire department pointed out, that at 12:34 in the morning, they’d received the call, and immediately sent the paramedics out. They’d found Lai’s girlfriend, Ke (age 49) with multiple swellings on her head, blood coming out of her nose and mouth, she’d stopped breathing already, and, they’d used the A.E.D. to resuscitate her, but, there wasn’t any changes in her vitals, after they’d rushed her to the hospital, she’d died, and the fire department turned the case to the police department.
The police investigated, that two evenings ago at around ten, Lai started drinking with his girlfriend, Ke, he suspected that she was seeing someone else during the time he was serving in prison, accused her of cheating on him, they’d started fighting, Lai lost control, started beating on his girlfriend with his fists and the bottles, then, went to the bedroom, fell asleep. At around four in the morning yesterday, Lai went to the bathrooms, and found his girlfriend, lying on the bathroom floors, with the pool of blood she was lying on, he’d immediately asked his neighbor to call emergency.
The Hualien Substation’s Deputy Chief, Liu said, that Lai had lived with Ke for a little over a year, the preliminary investigations believed that Lai got violent after he got drunk, because he suspected her of cheating, the police waited until yesterday afternoon after Lai hung over to take his statement, and charged him with murder, then, sent him to Hualien’s D.A.’s office for processing.
Based off of understand, Lai has priors in domestic violence and three drunk driving, the most recent time he drove drunk was this March, he was sentenced to five months in prison, and had served the terms, and, within twenty-four hours of his release two days ago, he’d gotten drunk, and committed murder. The neighbors told, that they’d heard arguing, but only for a little while, and as Lai came over in a panic in the early morning hours, that was when they realized, that something was wrong.
And, the alcohol was still, a catalyst in this case, had the man not gotten drunk, then, nothing that followed afterwards, including the death of this man’s girlfriend would’ve happened, but the man got drunk, and, lost control, and committed MURDER!
