Because of the stresses, and, the caretakers had nobody to get help from??? From the Front Page Sections, translated…
There is, about thirty-to-forty-percent of demented elderly, who suffered from symptoms of psychosis like depression, delusions, hallucinations, even becoming, physically violent, it’s, especially difficult, taking care of patients like these. The TADA did a survey, which showed that seventy-percent of the caretakers of the demented elderly all had thoughts of suicide, the professionals reminded, that as the demented elderly started exerting signs of psychosis, the family members should take them to the psychiatric department as soon as possible.
The C.E.O. of TADA, Tang stated, that the loved ones can’t find the institutions that’ll take in their demented elderly with the symptoms of psychosis, because the nursing homes may be selective of the cases, especially, when there’s no differences in pricing, naturally, the homes would want to take care of elderly who are, more easily cared for; on the other hand, the families may have too high an expectation of the care provided by the institutions, “This is, the filial piety attitude of ‘giving the best to our elderly parents.’”, and so, it would be, quite difficult, finding a fitting organization.
Tang said, with the cases of demented elderly patients with the psychotic symptoms, most usually improve with the medications, and, there are, ninety-percent of the families that’s, shouldered up the burdens of caretaking on their own. The caretaking during the daytime may be difficult, and they have the options of getting help from the demented elderly daycare programs set up by the foundation, using the care location set up in the various communities, and at night, they would, take care of their demented elderly parents on their own, and some had hired the foreign home nurses, to help with the stresses in caretaking.
Tang recommended, that other than placing the elderly into the nursing homes, the family can seek out the other sorts of resources available to them, like hiring a foreign care nurse, to get the elderly involved in the activities of the daycare programs, the researches showed, that the elderly who take their meds regularly attending the activities during the day time, when they’re home at night, they’re, easier to care for, and the courses can help slow down the progressions of the illness. In the foundation, there were several families who’d accompanied their demented elderly parents to the classes, their qualities of life with one another improved, and they’d, turned into playmates.
And so, there’s, NO need, for anybody, to shoulder the burdens of caretaking along on her/his own, as there are, so many resources available for us to take from, and this program will hopefully, reduce the stresses that the primary caretakers of demented elderly persons by a whole lot…
