Begin again, in mid-life, it’s hard, but, someone will, eventually, notice you, translated…
As you’d realized, the traffic police looked a bit younger, when you’d realized, that the news reports started labeling the leading players of a story as “middle aged”. Suddenly one day, when you’d, let go of work and family, in the moment to spare, your body, your heart, and your mind started ringing that bell, reminding you, that you’re, half way done. It’s also at this time that, you’d realized, that brave, fearless, young and carefree self, had, gone into, hiding somewhere deep inside, that heavily, locked up room.
Before age thirty, as we’d, weighed the pros and cons of the jobs we’re working in, there was still, the courage of “I quit”, sending in our resignations without hesitation, to show everybody else in the world, that we still got our dreams we are chasing, you’d not known where your next job is, but you’d still, walked out, with your heads, held high.
It’s just, ten years later, you may already be, married, and in charge of keeping a family, and, your responsibilities are no longer just caring for your aging parents, there may be, one, two, three more, burdens; and so, the pieces you’d, taken for granted on the chess board of life that you’d played, started, taking over the dreams you once had, and you’d started expecting, “things will eventually get better.”, and started, settling for what you have before you.
like this???
You thought, that it was your age that’s made you, more well-rounded, but without knowing, that it’s the burdens of life, that’s, kept you, tied down to your dead-end jobs, you’d, backed down from your own, principles, like that line, “those with dreams don’t sleep well, those who don’t dream, can’t be awakened”, but don’t worry, the heavens will eventually, endow you with a gift, and there would come one day, when you’d, finally, awakened from the dream state, your quivering blood may start to broil like it’d done, a decade ago, you can no longer, live with the comforts of that warm bed that’s made for you to sleep in, you’d remembered that warning you used, to advise someone else, “NEVER given up on the dreams you have!”, and recalled the goals you’d, set for yourselves on the planners of past years too, and so, you’d, decided, to tune up your own résumé, with more colorful stories.
At this time, in midlife, you’re, no longer an apple that could be, taken a bite out of, I hope, that you’re, just like ten years ago, with that endless hope toward your future, and, maybe, where you are, ninety-percent of the enterprises don’t focus on the work experiences you may have, but, there is bound to be, someone who, treat you like a rare gem, who’s, waiting for you somewhere.
I’d gotten this opportunity, after I passed forty. And because of this, I hope, that you, who are in your thirties, heading into your forties, save up all the experiences you can ever have, and, NEVER give up on the opportunities of advancements in life, and, always remember that line form the social media, “The biggest risk of life, is not taking any risks at all!”
I hope that, more enterprises, as they’d hit the delete button on the résumés they’re filtering out, do try to understand, how much courage, goes into the job seekers, maybe, they’ll, become an asset to your company, that you get, for very little costs.
And so, as you may imagine, this person had, lost her/his job, or quit the last job s/he had, worked in, and started looking for a brand new work opportunity, but, in this day and age, age weighs more heavily than experience, because, that is how the enterprises out there think, and, if the enterprises don’t look at work experiences, and start scanning people out because of their age, then, the enterprises all around would’ve, lost the chance, of finding better workers.
