The forty-seven-year-old amateur paraglider, Lin yesterday went to paraglide for fun at the Hutou Mountain in Puli, Nantou, he was suspected of falling hard, hitting his head first as he came back down, as the police and paramedics arrived Lin showed NO signs of life, and even as the medics rushed him to the E.R., he’d still, died.
The local fire department stated, that at 1:30 in the afternoon, they received a call, that there was an accident at the landing strip on Zhongxin Road, they’d immediately sent out the paramedics, and, as they arrived they’d found the man, landed in the farm patches next to the paragliding strip, he was already, dead, although the paramedics performed CRP on the man as they rushed him to the VMH in Puli, Taichung, he’d not started breathing again.

The police investigated and found, that the 47-year-old Lin was from Banciao, Hsinbei City, he’d been paragliding for four years, has a certification, and was capable to fly on his own, in the past, he’d gone out to train at the Hutou Mountain in Puli locally. At noon yesterday, he’d taken his wife and several other paragliding enthusiasts out, they had a good takeoff, but, he’d fallen hard as he’d landed, and the investigators suspected that he’d landed, head first, and by the time the locals found him, he was, no longer, conscious.
The other paragliders who were out said, that in the afternoon yesterday, the air and wind was, normal, as Lin took off, he’d circled around the skies, and because he’d shown no signs of abnormality, they’d, failed to pay attention to him, they were unsure of why he’d fallen as he landed, suspected that there was a wind that hit from sideways that’s, caused him to fall and get killed.
The Hutou Mountain in Puli, because of its geographic desirability, all through the year, the place was, fitted for paragliding, but even though the local paragliding range looked stable, but in actuality, the air pressures and everything is constantly changing, it’s really hard to grasp, people who go out to paraglide locally, are testing their own skills and ability to react to the changes constantly.

And so, this, is how even If you’re, a semi-professional, if you underestimate the powers of nature, nature will, MAKE you pay, like for this man, who’d, underestimated the wind pressures and things, and, it’d happened, in a split second, that this man fell to the ground, head first, and died on site.
