The inspirational tale of how this young man who’d, strayed from what was right, got himself, BACK on the right path again, from the Newspapers, translated…
The sixteen-year-old, “Yen” was very small in size back in middle school, and was often picked on by his classmates, in order to get even with those who’d, picked on him, he’d gotten himself involved in a gang, and had gotten arrested several times to the police stations to “have some tea”, until one day he’d realized, that his parents are growing old, and he’d, started, buckling down, studying hard, and poured his heart and soul into the studies of the culture of the Taiwanese temples, and mastered the arts of making the masks for the performances, found a brand new direction in his own life, worked hard to strive, received the model youth citizen award, and the mayor, Chu of Hsinbei City, after learning his tale, was very moved too.

Chu said, that in growing up, there may be varied difficulties that we need to face in life, and yet, the child was still willing, to walk his own path, “this is just the beginning of change for this young man”, there are more challenges coming in his life in the future, and no matter what stage of life you’re in, there will always be, challenges, so long as you are willing to work hard, you will be able to, overcome the obstacles in your lives.
Yen loved the activities in the temples since he was a young child, he’d, especially loved the figures that did the performances at the activities, but his mother banned him from it, being very small in size, back in middle school, he was bullied by his peers, and decided to join a gang for the sake of getting protection, but every time he was called, to “kill and fight”, day after day, he’d injured his left palm, and was hospitalized for six stitches he’d needed.
Getting into fights often, made Yen a “frequent customer” at the local police station, and all the officers knew his bad reputations, and Yen remembered how his parents at home are already in their midlife, and yet, he’d, gotten into fights all day long, without knowing why, he’d, decided, to get himself out of the gang, found back his love for the arts, and, started taking the lessons, in painting the masks for the temple performers.
And, the turning point of this young mans’ life is in how he realized, that his parents are becoming older, and he wasn’t mature enough yet, and, that made him change, and started, turning his own life around, and this young man got out of the bad things he was involved in before it was too late, and he’d, found something he’s good at, and hopefully, making the masks, painting them, can keep him from straying from the right path he’d found himself back on again!
