I’d gone home to stay with my mother, and before I’d entered, I’d heard laughing from within her house, that was the neighboring grandmothers, having a conversation with the aunty that lived in the next village, in on their wheelchairs, to come to have conversations with my mother. As I’d treated them with the cold drinks and cookies, the ninety-five-year-old aunty always stared at me and asked, “Are you Tao?”, I’d nodded. “Thankfully, Tao is retired, no longer a school principal, she could stay with us, the cookies and cakes she’d bought, we can’t even manage to finish them, come, come open these up, have some!”, my mother ushered in her guests, my aunt took a bite, looked at me, asked, “Are you, Tao?”, I’d smiled and told her, “Aunty, you have such amazing memories, still remembered me”, she’d told me gleefully, that her memories is “alright, that it’s, all right”, and everybody started laughing at the accident she’d carried!
After the gathering, my mother told me how my aunt is slowly becoming demented, that she kept repeating herself, and after she’d had her meals, she’d, scolded the hired helper, for not giving her any food……… “If one day you’re older and became demented, such sorrow that you would have to weather through, looking after the elderly loved ones.”
As I’d discussed the matter with my friend, she’d sighed and said, “it’s such a serious condition right now, and, there’s, a targeted group who are overcome with it”, I’d asked curiously, “What group?”, she’d sighed, “the politicians!”
“Tao, did you not note how when the party wasn’t the majority, they’d, criticize the party ruling the country so badly, and now, it’s their turn, they’d become, collectively demented, and wouldn’t sweat a bit, when they’re accused of wrongdoing. Look at it now, from a moment before, they can accuse you of something, and the following, they’d feel sad over what had happened to you; he can curse you out, but, after he’d found he’d made the wrong accusations, he’d, forgotten about it, if this is not dementia, then, what would be? Otherwise, don’t normal people have at least the slightest amount of shame?”, my friend told me angrily.

“Establishing a good set of values as citizens, is not the same as being in office, if you don’t act right, when you’re out of office, surely enough, nobody shall, treat you well.”, as the elders back home mentioned of how a former government official who’s, out of office, that everybody ignored, he’d reminded us, to keep our acts straight. I’d recalled hearing this story, that as a certain president of a university was retired, and gone back home to work in the fields, and bumped into the notably unreasonable city councilman, and once for an inquiry, the councilman trashed talked the university president; on this particular day, he saw the president of the university, who ignored him, he’d passionately greeted him, “President XX! Why don’t you say hi to me!”, the president said lightly, “Why would I need to greet a piece of trash!”, then, left the councilman standing there.
This was passed among the educators, and, the elder reminded me, “As you are the president of a university, you need to be humble, because one day, you will be retired, and he’ll lose the election, and as everybody left their posts, that is when, they started, screaming loud”, and I’d always believed, that you can see what’s right and wrong, what’s black and white, but I couldn’t understand, why don’t we, counsel him, while he was still in office, and allowed him to do what he wanted to?
“Waiting to see karma come back around after he’s out of the office, is it, useful?”, as I’d stated, my friend said I was, way too naïve, she’d asked me, “can you, reason with someone who’s, demented? Will he believe he’d, made a mistake?”
Yep! Thinking of how my mother believed, that the demented didn’t know what she did was wrong, it’d, troubled their loved ones; looking at the politicians, as they all became, demented too, they’d not known it themselves, but we can’t, see it as a bad joke, and naturally, the rest of the country fell, into a state of constant gloom!
“I truly hope that one day, there’s, a new medication developed, to treat the politicians’ dementia specifically!”, after I’d stated, my friend laughed loudly, but, she’d sounded, quite sorrowful in laughing aloud.

I do believe, that it’s true, what the writer here stated, but, I also believed, that the citizens who voted in the election should also be accountable, for voting SUCH a bad leader, it’s NOT just the politicians’ fault, we voted them onto their posts, remember? Uh, D-U-H, and yet, this, is what’s, currently happening, the incumbent messes up the country, and no member of the cabinet say anything, and just let her/him, RUIN the countries s/he is, ruling…
