A woman, in order to threaten her young daughter who didn’t want to go to school had, chased her off her car by the side of the road, planned to circle around, then come back to pick her up, but, her daughter was taken by a passerby to the local police substation. She’d received the call from the police, and hoped that they would comply, and scare her young, but they’d, declined, and as she’d arrived at the station, she’d told the police to cuff her daughter up, threatened to throw her young child into jail, it’d, made the girl cried. The police reported the incident to the social services, and the social services reviewed, and believed that the mother had, improperly disciplined her young, and will keep the family under close watch, to visit and offer counseling to the family.
The police told, that Lin, on her way to take her daughter to school as she drove pass An-Nan District, the young child started throwing a tantrum that she didn’t want to go to school, she’d not found out why, just chased her child out of her car, planned to drive around, then come back for her, but, as she’d come back, her daughter was, gone, she’d, immediately gone to the local substation that’s 500 meters away to report her daughter gone.
Back then, a passerby, Wu saw the child crying helplessly by the road, he was kind, and gave her a lift to the Tucheng Substation which was three kilometers away. The officers used the number the child gave them, and that was when Lin felt relieved, and then she’d asked the officers to scare her child, but the officers refused.
As Lin rushed to the substation, the officers consoled with her to talk it over nicely with her young child, and Lin had an emotional meltdown, started screaming at the officers, “Why don’t you just cuff me up then?”, the child was so thrilled she’d started crying.
The officers then consoled with Lin nicely, that she should not use the police officers to threaten her young, and after Lin calmed back down, she’d, apologized to them, and promised to talk it over with her daughter, then, left with her.
The secretary of the police station, Tsai said, a lot of parents would threaten their young, “You don’t behave, I’ll call the cops to arrest you!”, and used it as a measure to get the kids to behave, but, it may cause the children to be afraid to ask for help from the police when they needed to, and she’d, called out to the parents, to “not use us as threats” anymore.
Afterwards, the police reported the incident to the Social Services, and the Social Services looked into the matter, and found that the mother had used improper measures to discipline her young, but she’d immediately gone to look for her daughter, and she wasn’t fined, the Social Services Department will send social workers to visit the family regularly, to give the mother counseling as needed.
And so, this, is how threatening your child worked out, badly, because this mother wasn’t emotionally capable of handling her own young’s refusing to go to school, but, instead of finding out WHY her daughter didn’t want to go to school, she’d, left her child by the side of the road, and this young child, who’d been, “tossed” out of the car by her own mother naturally felt scared and started crying, and, thankfully, a kind hearted stranger had, dropped her off to the station close by, and the mother was reunited with her young, and she got a lesson on how not to discipline her own young child.
