The Sorrows of Elderly: Getting Scammed Too Much

Easy targets, falling victim, because of their age, and unfortunately, this, is what’s, trending now, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The country is aging fast, especially living in the countryside of Pingdong, I’d, felt the impact of the growth of the elderly populations.  I’d gone to the offerings of the ancestors in mid-July, there wasn’t any difference in the elderly faces, but there’s, almost NO member of the younger generations present, the younger generations moving out of the region is turning into a big problem here, causing the elderly to live on their own.  The population ages by the day, the younger generations moving away, the births, decreased, that is, the common problem that every village in the countryside now faces.

The National Development Council posted its newest estimates, in as short as just three years, the population here will enter into the negative growths, and the families, drifted toward more nuclear family units.  The convenience in transportation, along with the developments of new technologies, it’d, opened up the fields of visions for all, but, it’d also, brought the problem of public safety into the villages, causing the elderly population to turn into easy targets for scam artists.

If the elderly didn’t live with their offspring, they’d not had time to talk often, in the unevenness of information flow, the elderly who lived alone became easy targets for the criminals.  As the criminals called the elderly up, they’d lacked judgment, and in the shortest time given, they couldn’t decide whether or not it was true what was told to them, once they were scammed, they’d felt that it’s something shameful, and, believed it was one’s own bad luck, and decided to pay up the money, but, felt the impact on their moods due to the events accumulating by the day.

The best way to solve the problem is “young and old living side by side”, but, the problem lies in the wages of non-metro regions, the midstrip and southern areas’ wages are lower than the national average, and, there’s not an ideal workplace or environment, who would want to stay put in the low-pay regions of the midstrip and southern areas?  If the government can successfully solve the problems of healthcare, social welfare, work opportunities, transportation, along with other related matters, it would be a huge incentive for the members of the younger generations.

The goals of the government now, is to help increase the quality of life for the elderly population, reducing the burdens of the younger generations’ caretaking of their elderly, help save the low birthrates.

And so, due to the combined effect of ALL of these factors, this is what had happened: the younger generations move into the cities, to find better, higher paying jobs, leaving the elderly who needed looking after alone back home, with no one to look after them, and, because this society isn’t set up to benefit this current generation of working class, that is why this problem will persist!
