How to keep dementia away! From the Newspapers, translated…
Activating the brain cells, upping the metabolism, it can, prevent dementia. Other having a set schedule, getting enough sleep, in the morn, I’d, drunk a glass of warm water, to start off my day.
After breakfast, I’d gone with my husband to the underpass of the bridge nearby our home, and started my tai chi routine with them. An hour of this activity daily, other than learning the moves, we’d also, interacted with each other, cared about one another’s lives, and increased our bonds with each other, and, from time to time, I’d, had spats with my husband, adding more colors to our, ordinary lives together.
And, these past few years, I got involved in the team of volunteers in the community, and gone out on the scheduled calls to keep the neighborhood safe, used the smart phones to record the outings. I’d started on ground zero, learning how to take photos, and sending the footages online, although I’d, often forgotten what the next steps were. My husband and I adopted a patch, watered the patch, pulled up the weeds, and gone to check our small vegetable garden became, a needed activity daily for us, although, we’d, not harvested enough fruits, but, we had, shared, a ton of good moments in one another’s company.
The monthly community clean up, the team worked together, to clean up the areas surrounding our community, although our bodies were tired from this, but our moods were, lifted. Working as volunteer, doing good, helping others brings joy into my life, volunteer doesn’t just benefit others, it’d, benefitted ourselves also.
After supper, I’d taken my young granddaughter to stroll by the riverside, or the park, or the playgrounds, other than keeping up my physical health, it’d also, helped me become, more connected with my loved ones. I’d also gathered the information, to bring myself to the various activities, to learn new things, whether it be going to the libraries to read, or to go hear the professional speakers talk about health, getting out of the house, stretching my muscles, it’d also, activated my mind.
Drink enough water, having a balanced diet, sleeping well, exercise more, with enough leisure activities planned, having healthy interpersonal interactions, it’d kept my mind settled and my body well, everything is going well, keeping the mind healthy, and the body too, moving around like this, exercising my own mind, I’m, delaying the onset of dementia, staying healthy in my elderly years.
And so, as you can see, staying active in the body AND the mind, IS the key to keep dementia away, out of your lives, and, going out, interacting with others around you, is also important, because, not losing social contacts with those you knew, helps keep dementia away!
