His Father Begged the Judge for Mercy, and the Man Who’d Murdered His Mother Escaped the Death Penalty

The unemployed man who’d smashed the wok, and the urn onto his mother, killing her, because he couldn’t withstand her nagging him; Chang’s father told the judge, “I don’t want to watch my son receive the death sentence”, the Highest Courts gave Chang life in prison.

Chang had been long-term unemployed, and drunk, would act violently toward his family frequently.  Last year on March 8th, as he was cooking, he’d heard his mother nagging him about how he was unemployed, how he took to drinking, he’d gotten displeased, and, picked up the frying pan, and bashed his mother, and picked up the urn on the shrine of his house, smashed his mother, and his mother face was destroyed by him, she’d died on the way to the hospital.

The first and second trials, all gave him life in prison for murdering his next-of-kin.  The high court’s verdict pointed out, that the origins of this tragedy stemmed from the arguments in the family, that it wasn’t premeditated, that Chang didn’t murder his own mother because of his own desires, or money, but it was due to how he’d not gotten along with his mother long-term, that she’d become verbally abusive toward him, and there was this lacking in social support system, causing the worsening of his relationship with his own mother, that in this case, “the rest of the families are equally responsible”, that death sentence would be, too severe.  Yesterday, the High Courts agreed with the second trial, and, tossed back Chang’s appeal, case is settled.

And, a man, Ji in Taichung got into a verbal altercation with his 78-year-old father this February, after he was called a spendthrift, he’d, murdered his own father with his bare hands, his mother also, begged on his behalf, and, the Taichung District Court also found him guilty of murdering his own next of kin, sentenced him to life in prison.

The verdict pointed out, that Ji had been in physical and verbal altercations with is families normally, the household wasn’t running well and, regularly, he and his father argued over his job, the household economics, and his drinking, that there’s, a ton of displeasure that were, accumulated since a long time, that Ji lost his control after getting drunk, and murdered his own father, but, his mother begged on his behalf in court, “I only have this son, if he is imprisoned, what will happen to me” the judge considered that Ji’s crime isn’t a cause for him to be separated from the rest of society, and so, sentenced him to life in prison.

And so, these were, two cases, of how these middle aged, unemployed men, had MURDERED their own next of kin, because of how the parents nagged them to get a job, and, it’s still, a cause an effect sort of a cycle in these two cases.
