This is, the current trend, and, it’s still, NOT a good one, it can lead to the extinction of a SPECIES, you know??? From the Newspapers, translated…
The Department of Education estimated, that there’s an increase of electronic books by 2,000 volumes in just six years, and that the rate of checking the hard copies of books was, reduced by half, and there’s a sixty-percent increase of electronic resources.
The advancements in technologies, had altered the habits of readers, and it’d also, affected the students in college, the resources from online, and reading the electronic books, had slowly, replaced the checking out of the hardcopies of books, this became, the services being offered at the libraries right now.
you won’t be seeing this again…not my photograph…
In the estimates of the Department of Education, there are, already 64,290,000 volumes of electronic books at the college and university campus libraries, compared to back in the 2011 school year, it’d, increased by twenty million volumes, and, the checking out of physical books had, reduced by half, and, the students checked out the physical books ten volumes on average.
The National Library’s data of university and college campuses of the 2016 school year found, that there’s an increase in funding which the universities and colleges spent, on the electronic resources, it’d taken up two-thirds of the total expenditures; and, the electronic books had increased in volume in all the universities and colleges across the country right now, in these past six years, there was, an increase of 20 million volumes, the electronic periodicals went from only 544 to over 120 million to date, comparing, the hardcopies of books, of periodicals, of magazines are, on the decline by the year.
The Department of Education stated, that due to the changes in forms of materials in the libraries, the number of people checking out the hardcopies of books reduced by thirty-six percent in 2017.
because, this, is what replaces it…
The checkouts of paperbacks by students went from twenty volumes down to just ten, and, the seating in the libraries, were reduced by about ten-percent as well, but, the number of readers didn’t reduce, it’s just, that people, are reading electronically more now.
The analysis of the Department of Education showed, that the electronic volumes of books are on the increase, it’d become, the primary form of collection in the libraries, plus the advancements in the cell phone apps, the usages of the Cloud, reading online, is slowly, taking over reading physical books, it’d slowly, became the mainstream of libraries now.
And, just as I’d, predicted (feel free to call me the P-R-O-P-H-E-T here!!!), eventually, the libraries across this world, won’t have any physical book collections, instead, there would be those, tablets (iPads, or whatever READERS there may be???), at the kiddie sections, and, the parents only need to pick up a tablet, and, search for a volume of children’s book to read to their young, and that’s still NOT the same as reading the physical books to your children, and, if the children are getting accustomed to reading electronically, how do you expect them to pick up a book on their own, if they’d never even seen one now, huh? So, this, is very bad, based off of MY beliefs!!!
