My Mother Always Loved Waiting for that Bus with the Passionate Driver

Having a pleasant experience on the bus, that is why this elderly woman enjoys taking the driver’s bus, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

My mother is elderly, lives in Taichung, when she headed out, whether if it was for her doctor’s appointment, shopping, she’d often taken the busses.  And, she’d, known the routes by heart.  She’d wanted to show us: “hey, I’m still very sharp”, secondly, she’d wanted to relieve us of the worries we held over her taking the busses by herself.

Once in a conversation, she’d told us, she’s used to waiting for a certain driver’s bus, and after we’d asked her why, turned out, she’d, liked the man’s attitude, his kindness, he would tell her to take her time as she alighted his bus, and before her stop, the driver would tell her, “your stop is approaching”, and once she had carried something heavy with her, the driver got out of his seat, and helped her settle into a seat, like how we would, treat our mother.  Sometimes, she’d, given the foods she’d made, to the driver too.

Because it’d been a very long time since I’d taken a bus, after I’d heard my mother’s tale, I’d felt, that surge of warmth inside.  And, I’d, suddenly, changed my views of the drivers; because from my past experiences, riding on busses, wasn’t so pleasant at all.  And, there are, probably, many of these kind-hearted bus drivers as my mother had described, and we should, all take from their examples.

And so, this, is the effects of having good customer services, you may not get a raise, but, you will, make a difference, in the lives of others, like this elderly, who’d liked, taking the bus driven by that specific driver, because of his work ethics, his kindness toward her, and we need more of these workers in this world right now!
