Another drowning incident, in the SUMMERTIME, and this time, TWO children D-I-E-D!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The cousins, Chien took the advantage of the time that their parents and families weren’t keeping an eye on them, went to swim in the Nanshi Creek, and was carried away by the rushing streams, the six-year-old older girl was carried in the stream for 100 meters, then, left by the side of the river, she was lucky enough to get rescued, her five-year-old younger cousin still wasn’t found until last night; the older girl after being rescued, was in distress, as she’d screamed, “my sister’s gone missing, I don’t know where the water carried her to!”, it’d made the rescuers feel her sadness.
Based off of understanding, these two young children were the residents of the Karamoki Tribe, not well-to-do, the parents of both children needed to work during the weekend too, and they’re looked after by their grandparents regularly, but, the grandfather passed away not too long ago, and now, this accident had happened, their situation was very sad. The Hsinbei Fire Department sent out a 51-man search team to look, and the tribes locally was all onboard too, from the Karamoki Bridge, they’d, trekked downstream, but, until last night, there still wasn’t, any good news.
The locals pointed out, that the sisters, walked to the riverbed of the Nanshi River to play from the Karamoki Bridge, that the water usually is very smooth-flowing at that location, but it wasn’t, shallow, and because of the landscape, the downstream was unsteady, that if people weren’t careful, they would, get carried way by the water, and there are, a ton of rocks everywhere, and it’s, easy, to get injured, or get stuck.
The rescuers pointed out, that these young girls took advantage of when their caretakers weren’t watching them, run off to play in the streams, that they can’t swim, and there was rain a few days back, causing the water to rush, more so than normal, that was why this accident occurred The six-year-old older girl was carried off by the rushing water, and, only sent adrift for about 100 meters, then, carried to the shores, and was rescued.
The seventeen-year-old adolescent who’d caught her said, at around one, a tourist, Hsu found the children being carried off by the water, but, they’d only seen the six-year-old older child, fatigued, lying on the rocks, and didn’t find her five-year-old younger cousin. He’d pointed out, that the riverbed was about seven, eight meters wide, that the deepest part of the river was about 170 centimeters that crossing over the river wasn’t a problem for him, so he’d swum to across, then, carried her to swim to the middle of the river, and someone else, carried the child back to safety.
And this, is very unfortunate, but, this also serves as a WARNING to ALL parents: it’s the summer time, and it’s, getting hot, and, if you don’t watch your children like HAWKS (you know, those birds of preys, zooming in on those tiny rodents that they consume???), this is what’s bound to happen, and maybe, in your cases, your children might not be as lucky as this older girl who was, rescued, they might all D-I-E!!!
