The cruelty toward this infant was simply, awful, and eight years would still NOT be fitting as the punishment of this horrid crime if you ask me!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
A man, Cheng was accused of abusing a female infant as his ex-girlfriend had him look after her daughter to the point of internal bleeding from a laceration in her liver, the infant is now, in critical condition. The Taichung High Subsidiary Court believed, that the actions that Cheng took, to physically assault the infant, was the same as if he were to use a dangerous weapon, to attack a grown man, sentenced him to eight years for physical assault, and this can still be appealed.
The verdict pointed out, that during November of 2015, Cheng’s ex-girlfriend had to work, and left her one-and-a-half year-old young daughter to Cheng (age 30) to look after. He’d taken the infant and his own daughter to his home to care, the following evening, he’d told his girlfriend that the infant was injured and needed to be hospitalized. The hospital examinations showed that the infant suffered multiple fractures on her left arm, that there was a laceration in her liver, that she’s bleeding internally, and her liver function was quickly, deteriorating away, she was so severely injured she’d become, barely alive, and sent out the notices to the families, and after the emergent resuscitation measures were performed, her life was, spared.
Cheng denied having physically abused the infant, claimed that the infant had a pale complexion, that he’d sucked on her chest and abdomen, and as a result, the bruises showed, and that the left arm was swollen, because she was caught in the doors; his defense attorney also stated, that the infant was weak, that light bumping can cause serious bruising on her, more so than ordinary infants, or that the infants may have the bruises before she was left in his client’s care already.
But, Cheng’s young daughter testified, that she saw as her father bathing the infant, he’d, punched her stomach, and pressed her head down into the bathwater too.
The judge considered, that Cheng’s abuse of the infant wasn’t just from being annoyed with the caretaking requirements, that it was, with the intent to seriously injure her, that he’d used such cruel measures, that the punishment shouldn’t be light for him, gave him eight years in prison.
But, that is, in the prerequisite of the child being still alive, this man would only be charged with attempted murder, but if this infant dies in the future, then, the charges will become MURDER and, this LOSER who’d abused this infant wouldn’t just get a slap on the wrists of a few years’ jail time, and after time served, he’d be, paroled out, he’d be faced with, life in prison, or the DEATH penalty, and, frankly, I believe, that life in prison would serve him better, because he deserved to get tortured by his own guilty conscience for MURDERING this helpless young infant!
