When the murders became, a sort of a “trend”, commentaries off the Front Page Sections, translated…
The three consecutive cases of dismemberment, what, is happening to Taiwan? Some say it’s a problem of society, or, that the way we’re educating the next generation is wrong, but, the government’s, “it’s an isolated case”, made it, into, a matter of politics again!
From the fitness coach, murdering his girlfriend, the elderly man killing his own wife, to the archery coach dismembering a female student, all of these scattered cases had, caused unsettlement to the society, the spokesperson of the Executive Yuan, Hsu, however, believed that “even if the society is perfect, there are, still going to be, crimes,” “These are, isolated cases”, he’d used the politicians’ views, to minimized the safety of the citizens in Taiwan now.
The problem lies in how the society is becoming less and less safe to live in, and yet, he’d, brushed it off, it’d, hurt the families of the victims’ hearts, and the truth of a democracy is that “the rules can help, and it can, also hurt!” Let’s look back to the societal values of the murder of Xiao-Yen Bai back in April of 1994.
Back then, after the murder of Xiao-Yen Bai, the people in Taiwan lived in fear, the local groups started the “May fourth memorial for Xiao-Yen Bai, Walking for Taiwan” march, for the purpose of sending the signed petitions to the President’s office, then, there was, the “Loving Taiwan by Foot March” of May 18th that followed. There were, over ten thousand who’d attended both marches, and they asked the “president to admit that he was wrong, and the member of his cabinet to step down”, to get the government to note the problem of how the society is deteriorating away. The case of Xiao-Yen Bai was certainly not an isolated incident, it’s a result of the government’s systems.
This was, from twenty-one years ago, no matter which party was the majority, the accords of history had, documented the deterioration of the society of Taiwan, along with the butterfly effect of society and how it’s related to politics.
What about today? The consecutive cases of dismemberment had been interpreted as “isolated cases”, instead of being noted as a problem of the general safety in Taiwan!
The foot that’s made with lights that reflected onto the top of the President’s House, should forever be, remembered!
So, even though the murders of people are scattered, isolated, and unrelated to each other, there’s still that correlation of how the government’s way of ruling this country wasn’t good enough, which is exactly WHY these murders are still, continually, happening, and, there is, nothing we can do about it, because that, is on a larger scale of things, but, we can start by making sure, that we are, all following the rules ourselves, to help make this society safer to live in.
