The Elderly Who Lived in the Distant Regions, Waited for the Busses in the Heat

Encounters, and, the local governments, aren’t doing ANYTHING to change this for the better, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

As I’d arrived back to the Eastern Shores Elementary School to give a lecture, the return trip was hot, there was, almost no cars, no persons on the roads, after we’d passed a turn, I saw, out of the corner of my eyes, two native elderly, squatted underneath the bus stops underneath their umbrellas, there wasn’t, a gazebo or any shades from the trees at all nearby.

Back then, I had a thought, “the sun is so bright, when will their wait end?”, I’d asked my driver to back up the car, and, ushered them into the car, the two elderly were, very surprised, they constantly thanked me. I’d asked them where they were headed to? They’d told me they were going to see the doctors in the metropolis of Taidong, I’d asked them how long they’d been, waiting? They’d told me they’d waited, for half an hour already, that there are, almost, no traffic passing by at noon, and so, they can only wait on, patiently.

This wasn’t a special case, but a norm, of the elderly waiting for the busses, and, until the United Daily News brought this up, the “justices of the roads” for the elderly living in the distant-regions had only been, overlooked. What fazed me was, this was originally a problem that the government should feel compelled, to solve automatically, why did they need to wait until the news media started grilling them, to finally do something about it?

After the reports, the transportation department immediately fired off the “five shots” to help change the conditions, which showed, that the government isn’t lacking in funding, nor because they couldn’t, but because of how they don’t even care at all, they’d much rather spend the money on the activities, but not allotting the money to where it’s, mostly needed. The MRTs, the busses, the light rails in the cities are set up, while the elderly living in the remote areas can only, squat and wait, beneath the bus stops, for that long-time once transport, is this, fair?

Of course not, but, it’s like the writer of this article stated, the governments would much rather spend the funding from the central government on useless things such as fundraisings, shows, etc., etc., etc., instead of spending the money where it’s, mostly needed, like bettering these distant regions’ transportations, and, these people who lived in the distant regions, because they do NOT make up a huge part of the voter constituencies, that is why, they’re, overlooked!
