Giving these secondhand items, a brand new life! That was, what this woman managed to do, putting things to good use, and, it’d, impressed her daughter, translated…

From before when I lived and worked in Japan, I’d often gone to the flea markets of Shinjuku, and, I couldn’t, put those items full in designs that can be used, every day down. I’d had a couple of hundred Japanese Yen in hand (about $30N.T.s), and, strolled in the flea markets leisurely for an entire morning, and, it’d, brought me, a ton of joy, and fulfillment too, this, was how enticing these secondhand items are to me!

After I’d had my daughter, I’d often taken her to the parent-children museums, and, from time to time, we’d seen that little blackboard by the corner, with “If you need, all of these are, graduated children’s clothes, do take them home with you! Let’s do something for the Earth!” The Japanese people are cleanly, plus they thought about the feelings of the receivers, and normally, those donated children’s items were already, washed, ironed, and, placed perfectly inside the bags, looking from away, you’d mistaken them as items displayed at a shopping mall, they don’t look at all, secondhand, it’d, impressed me.

That day, my daughter brought home the slip from school, said the school is hosting a carnival, that there were, secondhand items for sell, she’d wanted me to get involved. What’s the problem! I’d, started rolling up my sleeves, and sort through the toys that she didn’t play anymore, the dolls, the stationeries I’d bought by the bundles back when, as well as the gifts from the restaurants too, the birthday presents from over the years………it’d, filled up, three whole bags, and, seeing that corner that’s no longer, cramped up with the items at my house, I’d felt, suddenly, refreshed.

It was sunny on the day of the carnival, and, all of these secondhand items, after we’d, sorted through them with care, they’re, calling out to the visitors, “Come, those of you who are interested, come, and take us home!”, our first customer, was a young girl, with the coins, she’d, happily left, with the pencil case with Queen Elsa on it. Then, the father of twin sons visited our booth, they had their eyes on the monster watches, they’d, hopped with excitement, as their father paid, with that radiant smile on their faces.

And, just like that, one right after the other, the secondhand items, so long as the kids, the instructors, or the parents wanted them, other than applauding hard, we’d also, done the wave to see them off, it’d made all who were there, burst out in laughter. Before the carnival was over, all our secondhand items were, sold off, such, a fulfilling day it was.

Before bedtime, I saw my daughter’s diary in neat handwriting, I couldn’t help but smiled, she’d written, “On the carnival today at school, I saw mommy at the volunteers booth helping, selling the items off. The toys I’d played with, the school supplies I’d used, were sold off, very cheap, it’s like, my mommy has magic, she’d, sold everything off so fast, met our goals, I’m so happy! My mommy is wonderful! She’s, the top saleswoman in my mind!”

And so, you’d, managed, to clean up your house, and, brought joys to the lives of others, by, selling the secondhand items you no longer are using, giving these items, a brand new beginning, such a wonderful way to teach your child to cherish the resources in her life!
