The Case of “Little Light Bulb” had, SHOCKED the society, on the first trial, the judge used the belief that prevented the mentally incapacitated to get put to death for murder, and gave Wang, the murderer, life sentence. Yesterday, the High Courts maintained the rulings, and case closed, the father of “Little Light Bulb”, Liu voiced his opinions for the very first time public, that he’d wanted the perpetrator who’d murdered his young child to get the DEATH penalty. The High Courts will give a final verdict on the matter on July 3rd.
In the past, Little Light Bulb’s mother had stated that death sentence doesn’t solve anything, and viewed as a supporter of doing away with the death penalty; and, although the murderer, Wang had asked for Little Light Bulb’s parents’ forgiveness for what he’d done to their young, they’d NOT replied.
Liu stated in court, that if the laws can’t prevent the repeated incidences, any other sentence away from the DEATH penalty may put members of the public at risk, that it would, damage the human rights. And, as he appeared before the press outside of court, he’d openly stated, that he’d wanted the courts to sentence Wang to DEATH.
Liu recalled, as he received the call from his own wife then, “Little Light Bulb is dead!”, he’d immediately arrived to the scene, ran several red lights; and, as he’d, lifted up the white cloth, covering up his daughter, seeing her half-opened eyes, as if she were asking him, “Daddy, what happened to me?”, and, that stayed with him ever since. He said, that a part of his life had, died with Little Light Bulb’s life.
Liu said, the Collectivist Courts discussed repeatedly of how Wang may kill again if he was released back into society, including dissecting his family’s pathology, to the perspectives of the society, and all other aspects, rationally, he’d, agreed to this sort of a way of thought, but “as the victims of this case, we still can’t see our futures”. And this sort of “high treatment’, isn’t at all, accepted by the Taiwanese society, as a father, he’d hoped that the Collectivist Courts do what it can, to prevent the defendant from offending again.
Little Light Bulb’s mother, Wang stated in court yesterday, nobody can imagine walking down the streets, and losing her child instantly, over two years ago, the president once stated: there are so many holes in the society, that she will do her best, to fix the systems; and, it’d been over two years now, I don’t know what the country did, to fix up these holes.
Two years ago in March, as Little Light Bulb went out with her mother, she was decapitated by Wang in the broad day light. The psychiatrist from V.M.H. Liu diagnosed Wang with schizophrenia, and the professor from Tzu-Chih University believed there was a 66 percent chance that Wang would offend again, and, the courts cited the international laws, that they couldn’t sentence Wang to death, so he’d received a life sentence.
The district attorneys stated, that the international laws didn’t specify that those with a mental condition can’t get the death sentences, and hoped that the court could be just, and respond to the demands of the society, and give Wang the ultimate, harshest possible sentence.
The defense attorney pointed out, that this accident was caused by the “country’s failure to do nothing”, that those who were diagnosed with schizophrenia were the handicapped; that the defendant wasn’t born with the two butcher’s knives in hand, claimed that “the perceptions of society should NOT dictate the verdict.”
The attorney for the families of the victim said, the counseling records from the prison systems showed, that Wang believed, that “the second trial will go his way”, and stressed that the forced treatments would be only for five years; and the families of the deceased believed, that Wang showed NO signs of remorse, didn’t care if he’d, destroyed someone else’s family or not.
And so, despite how this murderer deserved to D-I-E, the courts couldn’t sentence him, because he was diagnosed with a mental condition, and, the dangers of him serving a limited sentence would be, that if he gets out, and nobody’s monitoring if he’d continued to take his meds, who knows if there would be, another relapse, and he may, kill again, and, how would YOU feel, if you were the families of this young girl who got decapacitated by this LOSER who claimed he was hallucinating? Wouldn’t you want him to GET sentenced to DEATH, for murdering your own young, even IF he is mentally ill?
