Caused by the effects of global warming, translated…
Although there’s a lot of mud, and the water in the pond need to be drained out and poured in, at the distant corner of the pond, the very first lotus from the Botanical Gardens still bloomed out.
This was on April 15th, where there was, a gentle breeze from the previous night, and a bit colder in the mornings, I saw this first lotus. It’s a first, because as I’d walked past the botanical gardens the day before, there were, only stems, and yet, with a night’s worth of rain, I saw the very first lotus.
And, the flower bloomed, early again. Based off of my records, the very first bloom of last year was on April 19th, don’t know what this signified?
And over thirty years ago, as I worked in the Central Libraries next to the Botanical Garden, I’d written an article, “The Seasons of Lotuses”, which mentioned, that at the end of April, the stems would only start to rise up from the water, and at the start of May, the few leaves would, float up to the surfaces…………” and all of these started happening, in March, and April now.
After I retired, every couple of days, I’d gone to the Botanical Gardens, I’d especially noted, how the lotuses are blooming earlier by the year, and, the summers, getting hotter, and hotter.
And, I’m afraid, that by way of this, the very first lotus that bloomed, signified something more serious.
Of course it does, it signaled the effects of global warming, because, the temperatures are getting hotter and hotter, and, summer came early, and the flowers in bloom, were indicators of these things.
