A Drugless Dream

There are, NO shortcuts in life, and that was a lesson, you’d, learned the hard way, hopefully, so long as, you don’t get tempted again! Translated…

My cell mate has a grand dream.

It was the year he turned twenty-four, already forgotten what he’d wanted to be when he grew up that he’d written up on back in the elementary years, either superman or teacher, he’d been, infatuated, by a BMW Z4. Whenever he had the time, he’d, dreamed of sitting inside that convertible, and controlling the scenes with the steering wheel in his hands.

A BMW Z4 wasn’t actually, an unreachable dream for Zheng, he is very articulate, a very charming leader, took the tour groups all over the world, and, his excellent salesmanship, showed off in his wage envelopes. He’d made over millions of dollars each and every year, so long as he was good with financial planning, he should easily, fulfill his own dreams in just five years’ time. And yet, the desires came at him hard and rushed, which turned making his dreams come true step by step a mere fantasy.

He was intrigued, and started believing, that people “get rich by luck!”, and on his two tours to Thailand, he’d, risked it, and, transported “items” for the cartels………actually, he was lucky, that the customs checkpoints didn’t catch him, but because the drug bust teams were, looking for the bigger fishes they’re, trying to catch. In the end, Zheng traded in, his most, precious days of youth.

“Do you know how many lives can be ruined, by just thirty kilos of heroin? How many families get shattered for it?”, the law enforcement officers, asked him with a heavy heart, but, the hands that were, cuffed, can’t ever, turn back the hands of time now.

In nearly 3,600 days, he’d finally, paid his debts up to society, his good friends started wondering what Zheng had planned for his own life, he said, “I want to go back to my dreams back then, but this time, I will take it, step, by step, steadily.”

A dream of owning a sports car, is it, real? And, would Zheng actually, walk on the sturdier grounds, step, by step after his release?   I’d contemplated, and, wished him the best.

And so, because of that one WRONG move, because you thought that it was, the easier way, to make more money, quicker, you’d, landed your ass in jail, and now, you’re, released, and hopefully, you’d, learned your lessons the hard way, behind bars, and, never take the easy way again!

  1. Maybe we will learn, but some are not so lucky to watch their mistakes through the mirror
