The woman who works as an online anchor, Chiu was hacked and murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Liao last night, she died, having four knife wounds on her. After the Taipei D.A.’s Office interrogated the suspect, they took him into custody based off of murder charges.
Chiu’s father, other than hoping that the D.A. and the police can get to the truth, he was struck hard, by the recent influx of incidences of murder by love, said he hoped, that the public can show more respect to life, and sort through things more calmly.
Chiu (age 26) works in the service industry, also an online anchor, with over 16,000 fans. She’d started dating Liao (age 27) three years ago, and they were cohabiting in a suite on Zhongshan N. Road, they broke up in mid-February, Liao moved out.
Liao had priors in forgery, and went to the building where the murder happened at six in the evening on the 28th, downed a bottle of whiskey, to settle his nerves, waited until Chiu went out, he’d, subdued her with his elbows, forced him back inside the apartment, then, threatened to commit suicide if she didn’t take him back, then, stabbed her on the back.
Chiu screamed aloud, “Help me!”, it’d gotten the attention of a fellow neighbor, Chen. Chen opened up his own door, saw Liao with a knife in his right hand, immediately called the police.
At first, the police found the front door locked, knocked, and nobody answered, they’d asked the fire department by, ready to open the door by force, and, Liao opened up the door, wreaked of alcohol, and, went limp, told the police, “I killed her”, then, was immediately subdued by the officer.
The paramedics saw Chiu covered in blood, fallen on the floor, with multiple knife wounds on her, she wasn’t breathing, and they rushed her to the hospital, but she didn’t make it. The police found a bloody fruit knife by the bed, and in Liao’s backpack, they discovered the scout’s rope, an empty bottle of whiskey, and a notebook. In the notebook, Liao wrote a two-and-a-half pages worth of last note, stated how Chiu was turned bad by her two best friends, and complained about how she’d worked in a strip bar.
The father of the victim stated, that his daughter once called home to complain about how she and her boyfriend wasn’t getting along, wanted to break up, before the New Year’s this year, Liao called to threaten him, that if his daughter was really breaking up, he was going to do something awful to her. Chiu’s father kept reminding her to be careful when she go out, but she was still, murdered by Liao. Her best friend also voiced her anger via FB, on how Liao was caught cheating, but refused to break up with her.
Chen accused, that he saw Liao beaten Chiu, and that after they broke up, he’d come to harass her multiple times, and had called up the super of the building, to prevent Liao from going to the floor that she lives on.
And so, despite ALL the efforts of this woman’s friends, family, and neighbors, she still couldn’t get away, and, the murderer lost control because she wanted to break up with him, and, any man who threatens to kill himself if a woman doesn’t take him back is still a COWARD in my book, and, this could’ve been easily prevented, but it still wasn’t, and there’s just no why, it’s just, another lesson in this life, offered by death itself, but, will people heed it???
