The man, Du, who works as a gaming competitions trainer, three years ago, attempted suicide with his girlfriend whom he’d only dated for four months by taking the sleeping pills then burning charcoal, she’d died, he’d survived, the district attorneys charged him with artificial suicide. The Shihlin District Court started the court proceedings yesterday, he’d hoped that the judge could sentence him lightly, “I want to fulfill my girlfriend’s wish for me”, the family of the woman said he carried an awful attitude after she died, and that he was full of bullshit!
In court, Du provided the records of his communication with his girlfriend from LINE and on Facebook, that he could prove he’d NOT restricted her at all, that she’d not thought about breaking up with him while she was still alive. He said, that they wrote the suicide notes separately, and he’d not, falsified it in her name; he’d waken up because he’d vomited, and he’d gone to see how she was, and found her body cold, and, as he’d called out to her, she’d not responded.
The judge asked him why they wanted to kill themselves, he said, one day she’d held him and cried, talked about how she was physically abused by her older sister, how she was singled out by her classmates, and that she felt she was in a good place now, wanted everything to stay in this moment, and he’d wanted to support her in that too. The judge then inquired, after he’d learned she was suicidal, why had he not told her parents? Du said, “It didn’t occur to me to!”
He’d explained, he’d not murdered his girlfriend, that what’s written in the note, was the BEST proof, “I still want to apologize to her family personally, hoping to fulfill my girlfriend’s wish”. After this much time had passed, he’d come to understand some things, hoped the judge could sentence him lighter.
Wang’s parents didn’t buy it, Wang’s mother said, she originally had a wonderful family, but her daughter is now, dead, and could NEVER be returned to them at home again, “Du killed my daughter, as well as me too!” If it wasn’t that she wanted to do justice by her own young, as the incident occurred, she would’ve, killed herself as well. She said, she will NEVER see her daughter smile again, could never hold her hands, “Why is it that after all the evidences started turning up, he’s still not charged?”
Wang’s father’s attorney stated, that Du carried a bad attitude after the incident, that although he spoke of making amends, but he’d sued the family of the victims, and every time the court was in session, he’d called on his friends to show, pressuring the family of the victim, hoped the judge to change the indictment to murder, and sentence him heavily.
This, is a tragic enough situation, and yet, it’s nowhere, NEAR ending yet, because the woman died, and there’s no way, to make sure if the man who’d survived the suicide attempt is telling the truth, plus the family lost their daughter, and, naturally, they’d wanted the man with whom their daughter committed suicide with but survived to pay, but, we don’t know if the man who was saved is telling the truth or not, so, we can’t decide on who’s right or wrong, but a woman had, died in all of this mess!
