The Arcade, Legal, with 199 Illegal Gambling Machines Hidden in it

The illegal gambling, happening, right under the society’s “nose” here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The legal arcade of the Lion Forest Business Building of Ximenting, was suspected of hiding the gambling machines there, allowing the players to gambling with a lot of money, then, trading in the points they’d accumulated for cash, there was a businessman, Yang who’d, lost over a hundred million dollars N.T. in five years’ time; the police started the search yesterday, and, confiscated 199 machines, this was, the biggest arcade gambling ring in the history of twenty years, they also took twenty eight players, and the operator of the shop back to interrogation, all were sent to the D.A.s, offices.

The police investigated, that the Cartoony Electronic Arcade four years ago received the city’s certification of the arcades, which allowed the shop to have the R-rated puzzle and entertainment games, but they’d used the certifications to mask up the illegal behaviors, set up the “cashing in secret rooms”, the VIP rooms, so the gamblers can gamble at their wills, and use the accumulated points, and chips, to calculate how much they’d, won, and they were able to, trade in the points and the chips for money as they leave the game room.

The police investigated for over two months, and early yesterday morn, they came to the shop with a search warrant, and found the 199 machines, with an assortment of games that could be played, the biggest arcade gambling for twenty-years’ time.

The officers said, that there was a businessman, Yang who’d played big here, and in years, he’d lost over a hundred million dollars in sum, and had sold off multiple properties, to pay up his gambling debts.

Yesterday, the police confiscated a total of $374,000N.T. in cash of the gambling, the score cards (of over three million N.T.’s in sum), they took the ten workers, and owners of the shop, plus eighteen gamblers to the police station to get their statements, and, the case will be prosecuted based off of the anti-gambling law by the Taipei District Attorney’s Offices.

The senior detective from the police precinct said, that this game room had been packed with players ten years ago, and the later the night, the more players, but because of the changes in time, the owners got in and out, and, the ages of the gamblers started off at around thirty, and as the police went in for the unannounced checks, the shop was, loosely populated, “The sound volumes, reduced by a whole lot”; and there were, only eighteen players occupying the over hundreds of machines, in the two, three hundred square foot place.

And so, this, is how illegal gambling was, happening, and, these arcades, are very hard to catch, because they look just like those arcades that were set up, randomly in the shops, but, the police still busted this gambling ring, put an end, to this shop, but, I’m sure, that there are, many, many, many more shops like this one, all over the places, and I don’t think that the police can catch them all!
