So, we’re no longer, “blessed” with a long life, but CURSED with one now, aren’t we??? From the Newspapers, translated…
With the Average Age of 80, the Department of Sanitation Welfare Found that the Years of Healthy Living is Only 71, Doctors: We Must be Like the Queen of England, Save Up on Our Health Starting Earlier in Our Lives
Is living long a blessing? The Office of Internal Affairs Found that the average of Taiwanese people had reached 80, but at the same time, the years of being healthy for people here was only 71.2 on average, meaning, that people here spend nearly nine years bedridden. So, how can we age well and healthy? The doctors said, that if we want to be like the Queen of England, we need to start “saving up” on our health at a younger age.
“Attitude is what’s most important,” the head of the Department of Social Services of Hsinbei City, Chang said, living long is a good thing, but not having good health may make it bad, although the local government had set up an assortment of ways to assist the people in getting older, but, if we can be healthy, who will choose to be bedridden? It’s just, that by the time a lot of people finally understood this, it’s already, too late.
like this???
We’d added five extra years to the average age from twenty years ago, with the average age in Taiwan being 80, and, in the city of Taipei has the highest, at 80.54, and Taidong has the lowest, at 75.05 years.
The Unhealthy Women Live Five Years Longer than Unhealthy Men
The Department of Sanitation and Welfare found, that there’s a difference in longevity of men and women over 65, although women live longer than men, but, they’d lived for five more unhealthier years compared to men, which showed that they have a decline in the quality of life toward the end, and this is what caused the elderly women to live alone in their elderly years, to have nobody to take care of them, they’d spent most of the end of their days bedridden.
While men lived shorter, due to how their lifestyles, their psychology, as well as their eating habits. A lot of men don’t keep a regular schedule, smoked, drank, and, stayed out for longer hours, which increases their chances of being in an accident; when they’re upset, mostly, they’d keep everything bottled up inside, and this will affect their psychological wellbeing.
As for the reason why women have a low quality of life in the elderly years, this included that their husbands died before them, they’d lacked that psychological support; they’d kept themselves inside the houses, and, doing the household chores does NOT constitute as exercising, that it wouldn’t have an affect to help them stay healthy.
Couldn’t Live Healthy, “Longevity Became Trial”
In the past, we’re inclined to believe, that “a long life is a blessing”, but not being able to stay healthy in the elderly years may turn a long life into a trial. The 92-year-old elderly, Wang in Tucheng, Hsinbei City had a stroke last year, became paralyzed, a lot of people told his families, that he wouldn’t make it. But he’d set his mind up on going to physical therapy continually, and now, although he is still not quite completely mobile, but he could live on his own, more or less, and could attend the activities in his local community, “Move and be Healthy”.
or more like this??? Photo from online…
The seventy-seven year old elder, Lin in Zhonghe, five years ago had a slip, causing injuries to the hands and legs, and her limbs started becoming weak; at first, she was immobilized, but she’d still kept his pains down, and lived on her own, barely, but the physical therapy was intensive and became trying on her body, she couldn’t take it. And now, her limbs started becoming weakened, and started atrophying away, she can now only, lie in bed.
And so, from these cases, we can come to the conclusions, that in order to stay healthy in the elderly years, we need to start working our bodies regularly when we were younger, and even then, it’s still, NO guarantee, that we won’t have the ascribed physical conditions of old age, but, everything leading up to the elderly years, counts, so, start having healthier living habits now…
