The Eight Suspects Trafficked Meth to Indonesia, Were Sentenced to Death by the Local Indonesian Government

DEATH penalty for the smugglers that were found GUILTY out of this nation! From the Front Page Sections, translated…

Last year, the eight Taiwanese suspects who were caught, smuggling a ton of methamphetamine to Indonesia, were sentenced to DEATH by the southern district court of Jakarta on the 26th.

The newspaper reported, that the eight Taiwanese suspects were, Chen, Hsu, Liao, Tsai, Sun, Kuo, Sun, and Chuang. Last year in July, they were caught by the Indonesian police ambush, back then, the head of the operations, Lin was shot when the mob and the police opened fire on one another.

The eight remaining suspects all claimed that they had no clue what was being transported, that they had no idea they were shipping the illegal substances, and begged the judge not to sentence them to death, but apparently, the judge didn’t believe their claims.

Bruno, the primary judge residing over the case said with the reading of the verdict, “The defendants were conspiring to smuggle the illegal substances, and found guilty, because of the evidences had been, found”.

Our foreign affairs department stated, that the public defenders are working on an appeal; the Taiwanese Consulate in Indonesia will contact the related agencies, to offer assistances needed to the Taiwanese suspects.

With the help from the police in Taiwan, the Indonesian police had confiscated about a TON’s worth of methamphetamine from China that were separately packed in fifty casings, totaling up to $140,000,000 U.S.

Back then, the suspects attempted to ship the drugs from the beaches 150 kilometers south of Jakarta, some of the loaders were caught on land, the rest were caught on a ship used to transport the illegal substances close to the seas of Singapore.

Other than these eight, recently, there had been a total of ELEVEN Taiwanese who were sentenced to DEATH for smuggling in Indonesia in recent years. Indonesia has the strictest laws regarding prohibition of transportation of illegal substances, if someone carried over five grams of illegal substances, the individual gets sentenced to death.

And so, hopefully, this will deter people from smuggling drugs anywhere, and because Indonesia has such a serious punishment for drug trafficking, you can only believe, that there wouldn’t be that many cases of smuggling there…
