The Canadian pop singer, Shania Twain when interviewed by a British paper, she’d disclosed how from the age of 10, she was being sexually abused by her stepfather, but she’d refused to give the press any more details, just said, that the reason why she’d told the press was because she’d wanted to express to people who’d gone through similar trials as she had, “You CAN survive this!”
Shania disclosed that from the age of ten, she’d started being sexually abused by her stepfather, Jerry Twain. She said, that the abuser tried to attempt to control the victims in a psychological way, and the victims suffered the tortures both on the psychological and physical aspects. She’d also explained, that why she’d not asked for help, was because she feared, that once the law enforcements were involved, her whole family might get torn apart, “I can’t accept that outcome’, but at the same time, “I feel regret towards my own childhood”. Shania Twain’s birthfather was unknown, and, her stepfather and her mother died in a car crash back in 1987.
And so, imagine the torture, the stress, the pains, the sufferings that the pop singer carried with her, and, when the victims were that young, and the perpetrator is the sole breadwinner, naturally, the victims can only keep their lips sealed up tight, and just TAKE the blows, but now, she’s, no longer silenced, because the woman believed, that she can use her own life’s tragedies to help others who are being abused to step back out into the light, and let them know, that it’s NOT their fault, the fault is ALWAYS in the abusers!!!
