The legislative department passed the NCC’s “Digital Communications” Act, the act specified, that in the future, if there are disclosures on an assortment of internet crimes, then, the related agencies can take over.
A lot of people are covered by the anonymity of the internet, to viciously attack others, and some were even involved in bullying, and they all claimed, that the internet was the “gray area”. As this current legislation pass into law in the future, it showed the public, that activities on the internet will be covered by the legislations, those members of the online community who are hiding behind a keyboard, who’d committed fraud, or cyberbullying, will be charged with criminal offenses.
And, the new legislation also spoke in spirit against cyberbullying, the specifics stated that if there are any actions that infringed others’ rights, the police department can step in immediately, or, after the evidences were collected, the posts will be forced to get taken off the internet.
The legislator, Lee said, that there are a ton of cases of privacy and infringement cases in the digital era, that there’s a high percentage of the younger generations’ misuses of the internet. He’d pointed out, that it would be difficult, for the websites to censor the postings of the various users, regulation 13 of the newly drafted legislation stated, that if someone called out a post on a platform, the person in charge of the platform will need to take the responsibilities.
Jeng said, that the NCC is NOT the primary organization responsible for censoring the Internet, but the managing unit for the broadcasting systems. She’d pointed out, that a lot of the members of the public believed, that the internet is outside the regulations of the law, and this new legislation serves as a reminder, that as you’d become a member of the online community, you need to have self-control, because any of your behaviors may be unlawful.
And so, this new law is set to protect those who might be cyberbullied, and, we still have NO way of knowing that it’ll work effectively, because this is still in the beginning stages, and, it’ll take some time, for the effects of this new law to get seen………
