The Infnat in College

How you can raise a child to become independent, and a problem-solver, translated…

He is eight-month old, nicknamed “Hills”. Reason why he’d gained the nickname was a long story. “Hills” lived in a college of a university, the college was located in the middle of Macau, called “Dang” District, and “Dang” means a “water puddle”, and so, his parents nicknamed him such: Hills. So, you must be wondering, how can a college accept an eight month old, and allowed him to reside in the dorms? It’s not that, Hill’s mother is the resident professor of the Daya Bookhouse, there’s the dorms for the workers on the second floor, available to the staff’s families too, and so, Hill lived, legitimately, inside the housing, there were five hundred students, along with three other residential professors: the bookhouse’s manager, the assistant dean, a male instructor. Hill actually studied in the college, started in the daycare center provided by the school. At six when school was out, his parents would pick him up, to go to the bookhouse.

Hill had the characteristics of hills: strong muscles, a bit chubby, sat like a small hill; his temperament, steady and stable like the mountains; and he looked like the green hilltops of springtime too, full of energies, a happy infant.

The bookhouse helped cultivated the students’ abilities by an assortment of educational activities. Because the students had classes during the day, and so, normally, the activities happen at night. And if Hill’s dad was out on business, then, Hill’s mom would have it hard, like on this very night, the book house was hosting the annual Daya King of Karaoke, and, Hill’s mom needed to be one of the judges, then, who’s going to be looking after Hills? Because the students in the bookhouse are all very close with the four professors, so, Hill’s mom gave her eight-month old to the student council to look after, it took five officers from the student council, to look after Hills, they’d taken turns, holding him, each person holds him for about ten minutes, the karaoke competitions lasted two hours, and, the officers switched hands twelve times, and, Hills didn’t let out a sound, only in a few moments, had he started frowning, while he’d, smiled for the rest of the time.

Hill’s mom had her heart on her young song, can she be focused, on judging? Yes! She was more than capable at multitasking, and so, it’s no problem for her at all. As she’d listened to the students singing, she’d looked at how they presented themselves on stage, and, she’d, used her peripheral vision to see how Hills was doing out of the corner of her eyes. She doesn’t worry that Hills may be scared of strangers, nor was she worried that he may cry, because Hills only cries when he’s hungry, and she’d fed him, right before the karaoke competitions.

When Hills was eleven months old, one day, he’d gone to the first big party of his lifetimes, that was hosted at the Dean’s office on the fifth floor of the book house, the activities included the buffet supper, and the tea party afterwards. There were, three other residential professors, and over thirty students who’d attended the gathering, all of the students were winners of various competitions outside, and the feast was held in their favor by the dean, congratulating them, on venturing out, and winning the awards, there was the student who’d won second place in the collegiate debate competitions, third-place winners of figure skating too, but, Hills was, the one getting all the attention on this gathering.

There were, two round stools in front of the long tea table, they’d become, Hill’s performance instrument. Hills started crawling all over the living room, and every time he’d stopped, there would be students who’d carried him up. He’d crawled to a round stool, and, used his chubby round hands to climb atop, then, with his palms to the tops of the stools, he’d, stood up, and started, “pop! pop!”, hollering, and naturally, everybody who was there turned to look at him. Waited until everybody was looking at him, Hills relaxed his fists, then, stood like a tall mountain, turns out, his performance was “Stand!” Everybody there cheered him on. In no more than three seconds, Hills felt limp in his legs, and, bumped, fallen onto his butt, he was smiling so his eyes squinted.

That resident male instructor was excellent in designing game that helps with development, he’d decided to make Hills face the challenges to his own life. He’d placed the two round stools against a ninety-degree wall, to make a space that shaped like a rhombus, then, he’d, put Hills into that small space. Hills used a stool to get himself standing up, and, looked curiously, at everybody who was around him, and started laughing like he was satisfied with himself, then suddenly, he’d, stopped, he wanted to move, but found himself to get trapped. He started to frown, looked like he was about to cry. The students thought that Hills would cry for sure, but they saw his hands, feeling the tops of the stools, then, pushed, the chair moved slightly, then, his smiles returned, he’d pushed again, the stool moved a bit farther. Hills got himself out of the jam, and everybody there cheered him on.

Whoa! So many people, such a huge place, one sang right after the next. The place was so colorful too, with those multi-colored stars moving around, so pretty. There were five people next to me, they all looked like balloons that would pop. It was a big sister who was holding me, she’s very good with children, because as she’d taken me from mom, she’d known to hold onto my ribs, her bosoms so very warm, she’d smiled at me, and I smiled at her too. This older brother extended his arms out to catch me, he’d, carried me from my armpits, my body hung downward, my armpits felt uncomfortable, he couldn’t hold a baby. He’d smiled bitterly at me, like he was about to cry, I knew he wanted to hold me, so, I’d given him a smile, to encourage him.

The uncle carried me over to a place, put me down between the two walls and two wooden stools, like a small home, interesting place this is. The windows are so big, I can see all the students drinking. Weird, how come this small house I was placed in didn’t have a door? How will I get out? Of course, I’d needed to, make a door! Ahh! This wall moved, I’m an elephant who can moved the lumbers. Haha, I’d made a door successfully now. Everybody clapped for me, for my success in making a door!

With a mom like this, you can expect an independent infant. She’d placed Hills into a big old world, allowing him to socialize with others, to get him into various situations, Hills can develop his personalities earlier, tap into his potentials at a young age. The students of this college definitely had special talents: know how to hold an infant! And, this was quite rare, for the only children born around 1999, in the future, they shall all be great moms and dads. This baby, curious of all that’s happening around him, enjoyed interacting with people, loved helping others, enjoy showing off his own capabilities in front of strangers, loved solving the problems on his own. What brave young man is he to become in life! Such an innovative, adventurous young man! Growing up to be a strong man!

And so, the personality of this young child is shaped, by her mother’s putting him into contact with strangers, and, this will help this kid as he grows, like how he was able to use his own mind, to get himself out of that chair scenario, and this, is a good way to raise your own young, putting them in situations that are a bit stressful, and giving them the tools they’d needed, to solve the problems on their own.
