A Flower by the Mouth of the River, a Poem

The effects of pollution, and people still can’t see it, until it’s, too late to reverse the outcomes, translated…

There’s a Flower on the Mouth of a River

Following the Treks of the Drying Up of the River

Growing Against the Tides, at the Bottom of the River Mother

In Summer, as the Stench Flowed from the Opposite Side

The Clouds Dyed to Red, Underneath the Sunny Skies

Opening Up the Smiles of Fairytale Princesses

But, there was, the Magic of Witches, Hidden in

In the Soundlessness, Suddenly

Destroying the Villages

The Farmers Headed Out

with Heavy-Metal Coursing Through Their Veins

Headed to the Mouth of the River, Waited for the Southern Winds

Called Out in Desperation

Suddenly, a Flower

Became Thousands of Flower

In the Magic of Montage

Opened Up its Confused Eyes

Stared at the Loss of Soul

But Equally Colorful Body of Hers

And so, the Flower Finally Understood How Despair was this Place She Bloomed from

Because, the Melon Patches were Already Withered Away

And, the Farmers Got Stuck in the Fields of Sand Knee-Deep

Once More, the Plants Flowered, but Bore No Fruits

Once More, the Watermelons, Disappeared.

I Know, that Once Light Breeze from the Oceans

are Like the Bird Calls that Bring Good Tidings

Like How the Flowers, the Expectations, and Uncle Wan-Shun

All Gathered Together by the Seashore Underneath the Warmth of the Sun

Rolling Over the Laughter that Grew by the Bundles like the Fruits

And Yet, as the Southern Wind Blew by

Everything that Once Was, Became, a Nightmare

and You are, just a Flower, in Fully Bloom, at the Mouth of the River, Underneath This Polluted Sky

And so, there’s the before AND the after, of what this place looked like, and now, this world that this flower was “born” into, was nothing more than, polluted air, and unclean water…
