On Apples

This, is how SERIOUS high-tech addiction is slowly getting, for these, younger generations of children in the world right now!!! Translated…

As we’d gone out to dine or in cafés, we can see the couples, or husbands-and-wives, eating and sliding on their cell phones, and, the conversation that popped out between would be, “I’d sent it to you, did you receive it?”, this would be, the interactions style of the high-tech era.

My husband believed, that meals should be about eating, that it’s not fitting, to use the cell phones, but, he can only tell me what to do, as for our children, they’d, IGNORED him!

On Sunday as my son came home, he’d slid on his cell while having lunch. Although my husband was a bit, displeased, he’d not wanted to destroy the atmosphere, and found a topic to chat, “How many apples were famous, in the history of man, do you all know?”

“The Apple from the Garden of Eden, the one that Adam and Eve took a bite out of”, I’d recalled the story from the Bible, how humans started learning after eating that forbidden fruit. And, of how the Greek Goddesses, Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera, how they’d, fought over that golden apple that symbolized being the most beautiful woman, that’s caused the Trojan War, the apples, are the causes of the trouble!

“You can’t eat the golden apples, they don’t count!”, my husband continued, “In Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs”, Snow White accepted the witch’s gift, and took a bite, and fell into a deep sleep, that’s also a famous one. Thankfully, the prince had, waken her up, otherwise………”

“If the prince only cared about defeating the monsters, or hunting, and never came, then, won’t the princess stay in a coma forever?”, I’d added. Then, suddenly, I’d recalled that apple tree in front of the Cambridge University, and reminded of how that apple that HIT Newton on the head that’s, made him discover gravity, did Newton end up eating that apple? Did someone test that theory?

Then, the words came, it was, just the two of us, performing the “soliloquies for two”, my son still kept his head lowered on the cell phone, without a word. My husband glance over at his new cell phone, sighed, “Now, that apple had become very expensive, and although, someone already took a BITE out of it, everybody still stood in line, and fought over it, I can’t get it!!!”

Surely, the apple in the Garden of Eden taught man right from wrong, and, as modern day man had the apple that’s bitten, they’d become, fashionable, but, are they, really, smarter, or………

And, this, is be H-O-W the addiction to hi-tech devices can, affect these units of families, because all of your children are all kids of this high-tech era, and, they can’t live without the gadgets, and, with all of them, plugged in for sixteen hours (assuming they’re all getting their eight hours of sleep???) per day, they will get turned into MACHINES, that wouldn’t have a CLUE of how to interact with each other, face-to-face anymore!
