Another CASE of the parents’ NEGLIGENCE, but this time, this kid’s life didn’t get “taken” away by DEATH, lucky!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
After the New Year’s, the Changgang Hospital, in just a month and a half, treated FIVE young children who had weird items stuck inside their windpipes, and the examinations found, that there were all, nuts and beans, the snacks, there was a two-year-old girl who’d had a pistachio nut that got stuck inside her bronchiole, that caused the inflammations and hemorrhage, after the surgical removal of the nut, she’d stayed under close observations in the I.C.U. for three days, then, her life was spared.
like what this kid is about to do??? Photo from online…
The Changgang Hospital in Linkou estimated that in fifteen years, children under twelve who had objects or foods stuck inside the windpipes and needed surgeries totaled up to 136, and the average age of these children are 2.2 years old, and cases of boys are more prevalent than girls; and, ninety percent of the foreign objects were nuts and seed-type food items, and there were the caps from pens, and small toys such as marbles too.
In the past, there were children who’d choked on the jellies, causing the obstructions in the airways, it’d alerted the parents. The pediatrician warned the parents, to NOT allow children under five to eat peanuts, nuts, pistachios, along with snacks of the sorts. There were the elderly caretakers who’d stated, “they’d not had an accidental choking from before”, and this is a belief that needs to be altered, after all, children are, cherished treasures.
Dr. Hsin said, children under five hadn’t fully developed their chewing abilities yet, and, there are, high chances of them having some food stuck in the windpipes, plus, they have a less sensitive nerves in the throats, after they’d started choking, they normally have delayed reactions. If they are choking on something that’s big in size, then, the child’s face will turn black immediately, it’s easily detected, while the smaller things will fall into the bronchioles, and the children may start coughing incessantly, and in the end, have a progressive lung infection as a result.
and ehre’s, one more kid, turning either white, or blue, photo from online still…
Dr. Lin also reminded the parents, that if the above situation happens to your young, the parents should not SMACK the children’s backs repeatedly, in case the foods fall deeper in, and they’d needed to, stay calm, to NOT cause panic in the children too. And if the child’s face is already black, “Do perform the Heimlich maneuver on them, and rush them to the hospitals immediately!”
And so, these choking “hazards” are always caused by the parents’ NOT paying enough attention to their young, and besides, if your kid was that young, then, s/he should NOT have any business, eating the snacks that you, adults are snacking on, give them something fitted for their age, like those melt-in-your-mouth foods, or, Cheerios that they can pick up, one piece at a time…
