A landmark case for death from animal abuse, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
A man, Chai, had abused the four stray cats he’d adopted to three deaths one seriously injured, he was given an eleven-month sentence by the courts for breaking the laws for animal protection; the sisters, Cheng who’d provided Jing with two cats to adopt, sued him for fraud, and, the Tainan District Court found that Jing had lied to the sisters, and charged him with fraud, sentenced him to three months in prison, he can pay a fine and not served the time, the case can be appealed.
This is the very FIRST case of animal abuse charged with fraud. The attorney that the Chengs hired said, that “I hope this would be a milestone”, other than the animal protection laws, there would be other punishable crimes to protect the animals.
The Tainan District Court believed, that Chai had adopted kittens multiple times, but he’d tossed them out because they didn’t fit with him well, and after he’d injured, “Shy”, he should’ve considered how he wasn’t fitting to adopt, but instead, he’d become, stubborn that he’d needed the company of kittens, and adopted “Cakes” by lying, and “Cakes” had died in his improper care. That his behavior had gone past what normal people can tolerate.
The sisters reported Chai to the animal protections agency, and Chai admitted to having bad emotional control, and admitted to slamming the kitten down onto the ground, the Animal Protections Agency believed that he had abused a total of thirteen cats, the courts found that he had abused four, causing three deaths and one injured, and sentenced him to eleven months in prison, and he can pay the fines and not serve any time.
The sisters Cheng believed that Cheng used fraudulent measures to adopt the cats, and testified, that Chai told them, that he’d not told how “Shy” was injured, fearing that the sisters might sue him, and wouldn’t give him any more cats to adopt.
The attorney, Chiu chased the leads, and found, that two weeks before Chai asked the sisters to adopt the cat, he’d adopted another stray cat, and, within two days of adopting that stray, it’d died; and, Chai had told the vets, that the first cat was injured by his slamming it down to the floors, and that the second one died, after he’d, thrown it down, but kept lying about his having the compassions, and wanting to adopt the cats, that in actuality, he was adopting the cats, to abuse to kill them.
And so, this, is serious, this man had adopted the cats, to ABUSE them, to DEATH, and that just showed how little regard he has for living things, and the charges should’ve been murder, of animals, instead of just FRAUD, but either way, this man will be serving time in jail for what he’d done to the animals he’d adopted, but abused to death, so, justice is, kinda, served…
