Child, are You, Happy?

Observations, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

“Child, are you happy?”, that is the question that I’d always asked my students before Children’s Day every year.

A couple of years, their answers were, “I think so,” but later on, it sort of became, “not really!”, “nope, I’m not happy!”, I’d asked them, “Why not?”, wanted to know. But, their answers shocked me, it was, almost exact with the news of child abuse from a short while ago; it’s a wonder, that they’d felt like was harsh, how can they feel, happy!”

Many years ago, I’d once taught at a school with physically handicapped children, other than needing the special eds training, I’d learned, that I’d needed “compassions and patience too”, in order, to work well in special eds, and so, I truly hope, that in being a teacher, or an early childhood educator, we’d all need a ton of compassion, to treat the children with.

Every year on Children’s Day, the various schools, and local land offices would give out the gifts, but, this can only keep the kids happy for just this one day, the best present for all children, is to allow them to live in happiness at all times.

And so, this, is a very important question that we overlooked, we always assume that so long as children are well-provided for, they would be all right, without realizing, that giving them the materials are only a part of the equation, that more importantly, we need to take the time from our busy schedules, to spend with the children around us.
