As the social services organization Hwa-Shen Foundation took care of the elderly who are demented, lost their abilities, and without anybody to care for them, a lot of the volunteers visited and realized, that the elderly population had, craved the company of younger children. The Yilan Chapter of the Hwa-Shen Foundation asked along the preschool children from Cornell Preschool to visit the arts center with over 200 elderly, and had eighty of the nursing students from the St. Mary’s Nursing School to help, the elderly were able to interact with the young children, and were, all very happy, their smiles said it all.

And so, this still just showed, how the elderly needed the company of the younger generations, because they have a lot to teach the children, that, is how the heritages were, passed down, and, that, is what these elderly needed, to pass what they know, to the younger generation, to feel, that they’re, contributing, giving back to the world that they’re living in, before they die. So this program benefits both the children, as well as the older adults.
